Anyone have a Uniqlo coat?

I'm looking for something super warm, and looking at the Uniqlo seamless down coat. Does anyone have it? I have questions:

  • is it genuinely warm?
  • is it waterproof?
  • will it be annoying not being able to wash it? Is it easily sponge-able?
  • how is the size and fit?
  • what kind of colour is the burgundy one?

Basically, is it a good choice and worth the money? It's so expensive! I'm willing to pay a lot for a genuinely good coat but the last one I bought was £150 and still leaves me chilly on the side of the rugby field.

If it's not all that, is there a good alternative?

Apologies for formatting, it looked fine before I posted it!

Very warm but water resistant not waterproof. Rain rolls off them, but I would think a long walk in a heavy downpour would be too much and it would get wet.

I'm happy with mine, it's warm and still going 2 years on. It is definitely not a raincoat though.

Love mine. Got the khaki long one last winter and it kept me toasty through many a Sunday kids football match. It is very warm. Hasn’t been tested for waterproofness, though suspect it is shower rather than fully waterproof. I’ve sponged it down and looks pretty smart the second season running. In terms of size, I’d size up if you want room as it’s pretty fitted.

As above - so warm but not completely waterproof. Wipes well (mine gets covered in mud in winter). And slim fitting so size up! They occasionally do deals so I would keep an eye on their emails between now and Black Friday

I've got one and have washed it in the washing machine a few times and it's still fine. I didn't realise you couldn't?!

lovely and warm but not waterproof and never had been!

Thanks everyone! I guess there might not be any such thing as a perfect coat. Good tip about waiting for black Friday!

Nice and warm and fine in light rain but I don't think it would cope with a downpour. Didriksons are good if you're looking for serious warmth and waterproofness.

I have one and wore it all last winter on endless walks with the pram. Very warm, windproof and light. Haven’t had any issues when caught in the rain but it’s not designed for heavy rain I don’t think.

Just got it down from the loft and looking forward to wearing it again this winter …. It’s basically like wearing a duvet!
