Aware that there has been quite a few threads recently on that subject…..

Im looking for a dress…. For winter… a WARM everyday dress (so not light cotton with long sleeve or light jersey, etc…..)
I bought some dresses from wool this summer and really liked them.

Im a size 22 so a lot of the usual brands are out….
And most of the dresses I’ve seen make me feel cold just looking at them (short sleeves, cotton, light and floaty). Perfect for summer but not in winter for someone who feels the cold.

Any ideas?

I've not seen Wool& before. Lovely colours

PeakABoocha · 15/10/2023 16:46

@HewasH2O , yes that’s much more what I’m looking for!

They usually bring out more colours throughout the season.

Not a dress suggestion but sticking one of these under a dress makes a world of difference.

Go down 3 or 4 sizes from your dress size (they stretch ) so that they don't add bulk.

Comfy, warm and available in lots of sizes

I don't understand the vitreol that sometimes gets poured on Seasalt on here.

There are nice dresses there. I'd happily wear these 2. They're not dissimilar to dresses I've got. I would turn both of those into winter dresses by wearing a slip , thermal vest and thermal opaque tights under them and a thick woollen cardigan on top (appreciate that's not what OP is looking for)

@NatashaDancing I agree, like most shops there are things on there I wouldn't wear but plenty I would. Dress code at work is fairly casual but no jeans, trainers and because I have a lot of contact with sex offenders, nothing too low/short/tight. I've got quite a few seasalt dresses that do the trick and they are predominantly natural fibres. I also like that they do a tall option. Sales are often good too.

PeakABoocha · 15/10/2023 18:16

@NatashaDancing yes I think layering has a place there too!
Its just I’m just a really cold person so I end up so many layers I look like tte Michelin man (and I really dont need that lol)

So do I.

The 2 I linked to are organic cotton and GOTS certified and partially lined. They're very good value.
