Do grenson nanettes soften up?

Just bought a pair of grenson nanettes for over winter, the newer all-leather ones with the black eyelets.
The problem is the leather feels SO stiff, where they meet my leg above the ankle, it's quite painful! Obviously I'll have to break them in with long socks but someone please tell me they soften up?

I have two pairs of Grenson Nanettes which I wear regularly with no issues. They are a few years old though so I'm not sure if the leather is the same.
I think it took a couple of wears to break them in.
I only wear them with a slightly thicker sock. These ones
BAM socks

Not really in my exp. Mine were pretty painful until I adjusted them, I’d been tying them up too tight. Had them a year or so now, and the leather is still pretty rigid.

Been wearing them around the house this eve, I think I'll hang onto them as they're much more tolerable with thick socks on, I've been trying on black leather winter boots for 2 years now and none ever fit properly and apart from the leg feeling annoying they fit perfectly

Have you tried leather softening spray?

Bearpawk · 14/10/2023 08:55

@BangingOn I didn't know that was a thing ! Got any recommendations? Thanks x

I just bought some generic stuff on Amazon, it’s like a foam that you wet the leather with, then wear the shoes to shape them.

My black ones did. My cream ones never did
