Can anyone recommend a cream deodorant? Are they more effective than spray or stick deodorant?

AKT London - great deodorant balm. I won’t use anything else now.

colouroftherainbow · 12/10/2023 17:34

Natural Deodorant Company cream deodorants. I use the regular one daily and the active one in Summer. Tried the likes of Wild and Fussy since but not as good, now I won’t bother trying anything else

Scence deodorant balm, it comes in a sturdy cardboard push up stick, smells great (I bought mellow sage fragrance) ladts a long time and no irritation. Not keen on sprays as I seem to use/need lot more product and worry about breathing it in!

Or could try making your own cream deodorant using coconut oil, bicarbonate of soda, arrowroot powder and any essential oil you like the smell of!

dementedpixie · 12/10/2023 19:34

If you want antiperspirant then I like the cream Sure Maximum or the Dove maximum. I need/prefer antiperspirant rather than deodorant

SugarCraving · 12/10/2023 20:40

@dementedpixie I was unaware these were available as a balm.

Unfortunately I am unable to use sprays or stick deodorant at the moment. I have been advised to use a balm.

What do you mean by a balm?
The dove and sure are creams. They're sold in a box and are around £5

SugarCraving · 12/10/2023 21:31

@dementedpixie

I mean deodorant that is a jar or a tube of cream. It's sold as a deodorant or anti perspiration balm.

I am not looking for a spray, roll on or sick.

The ones I'm talking about are creams so just like a balm. They are not sprays, sticks or roll on. You turn the wheel at the bottom and the cream comes out little holes at the top of the dispenser

SugarCraving · 12/10/2023 21:49

@dementedpixie

Perhaps you could send me a link.

The only cream deodorant that comes through holes I can find is a stick deodorant. Unfortunately I am unable to use this product.

Looking for a balm. They tend to be packed in a jar or tube and needs to be rubbed in.

I have that sure one, it does need to be rubbed in but you use the dispenser to do it

It really works well

I agree, I really like AKT, it comes in a metal tube so it is easy to just get a pea sized amount. The packaging is v well done. I also like the Natural Deodorant Co. That is in a glass jar, so a bit less portable.

SugarCraving · 12/10/2023 22:00

Thank you for the link.

Unfortunately I am unable to use stick deodorant.

In my first post I said I was looking for a balm or cream.

SirVixofVixHall · 12/10/2023 22:01

Both the above work very well for me. I use both as I like having different scents.

SugarCraving · 12/10/2023 22:03

@Noodle421 and @SirVixofVixHall thank you for the recommendation, Those creams and balms are worth considering.

It is not a solid stick, it is a cream!
If you wanted you could use your fingers to rub the cream in rather than using the dispenser

Nuud.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/10/2023 00:00

I second Sure maximum.

Another vote for three natural deodorant company. You can buy online at Holland and Barratt. Best deodorant I've used and not an antiperspirant.

ToussaintTheChef · 13/10/2023 21:34

Natural deodorant co. The orange one is my fave after trying them all. Been using them a couple of years now after realising how bad anti perspirant is and wouldn’t go back. I never smell and can top up comfortable throughout the day. Brill.

RaininginDarling · 13/10/2023 23:13

Simply Effective is a cream, comes in a pot with a bamboo lid and you buy refills. The standard fresh scent is amazing and it's not let me down whatever I'm doing. (Didn't get on with the sensitive version though.)

AntiHop · 13/10/2023 23:18

Trust. Comes in little tubs. You only need a tiny bit so it goes a long way.

brokenstone · 14/10/2023 14:13

Awake Organics Moon Goo

SkyFullofStars1975 · 14/10/2023 20:21

I've got a tube of AKT London after recommendations on here and it smells divine, rubs in easily but my god, I smelled horrendous by 4pm. DIdn't work on me at all, neither did Wild.

I use the tiny pots of Trust anti-odorant, takes a few days to work on you but I put it on at night after a shower and now only need to use it twice a week. Really gentle but effective.

This is a cream/balm in a stick, comes in a few fragrances.

I was one of the ones who recommended this product and I’m sorry it didn’t work for you - it’s not cheap. My application lasts all day and it doesn’t streak my clothes either which is a bonus. I was swayed by the 100’s of great reviews. I too have been disappointed by other products recommended by others ( usually hair care) but not this one. It works for me. I guess we are all different.
