Pandora bracelets

Are these now a little passé or are they ok? I've never been keen but my teenager would like one for Christmas. She's 15 and I suppose I'm worried that she might decide it's no longer cool to have one and won't wear it after a few months. She's very much led by what is acceptable at school at the moment 😔

My girls no longer wear their bracelets, but have lots of rings! The trend now seems to be to wear multiple rings on both hands!

I think they're more than a little passé. My girls like the huggy earrings and wear the matching rings in a stack but they don't scream Pandora.

If she wants one get a 2nd hand one so you're not spending too much

I have a feeling they are making a comeback after being out of fashion for the last ten years or so. I do think it’s a trend and a more timeless option would be a lovely chain charm bracelet?

stayathomer · 12/10/2023 18:15

It depends though, I think if you love it enough it doesn’t matter because even if you don’t wear it around your friends you’ll look at it or pull it out and it’s something she’ll still throw on in years to come (if she likes it enough!)

My teens are very into it and have been for a couple of years, as are all their friends it seems. I have a 16 and a 14 year old. The 16 year old recently used some of her birthday money buy a ridiculously expensive Disney 100 charm last month🫣but I suppose it’s a collectible. The 14 year old trades her charms with her friends! Thankfully she only trades the inexpensive ones off Etsy not the proper ones we got her for her birthday and Christmas etc.

CheersToMe · 12/10/2023 18:24

I think they're coming back in. I've recently taken mine out and polished it up to wear. All my charms hold a memory. I haven't had any new ones since before lockdown so hoping to add some.

I'm not a fan of charm bracelets anyway and was surprised she wanted one. She's not normally one to want what everyone else has but the last year she wanted Nike pro leggings which have fallen apart, and will only wear teen identikit Nike air force ones---- except I refuse to buy her any because I can't afford them and she needs other stuff like horse riding boots plus she wrecks all her shoes with the refusal to undo laces and forcing the backs down to get her feet in 😡 I fear the bracelet will be equally abused in some way and forgotten about. Or she will say she won't wear it until she has enough charms or similar.
I think the test of whether or not she really wants one is to suggest she buys one with her birthday money.

I did sorta like them until reading on here that the charms come in big bags from China and are worth pennies, I think the poster worked to the warehouse or something.

AgingDisgracefullyHere · 12/10/2023 20:18

You can buy them used really cheaply. And you can get murano glass beads for them cheaply, which she can use to space out the real Pandora charms or change the colour scheme. So it needn't be too expensive.
