Wedding guest idea

Help! I'm invited to a fairly posh family wedding at the end of November. I'm 57, large siz 12 but want to lose some weight. 5.2 and about 10 stone. Smallish hips and slim legs, medium bust but largish tummy.

I want to look stylish, smart. Maybe something velvet? Winter colours.

I have a nice navy long coat and a budget of up to £200.

Can anyone suggest anything? I'm thinking if Reiss, Hobbs, Mint Velvet etc

Absolutely not velvet

Confused …

If you like the brands you’ve mentioned, @Bristoluser, why not browse their websites and choose something?

(Probably as unhelpful as @blanketsmell‘s interjection!)

I thought it was very helpful. Velvet is very hard to pull off in a classy manner.

Pink City Prints?

The fuschia is cord rather than velvet but the colour is amazing.

Oh! I almost linked this dress above but wasn’t sure cord would be considered formal enough. But the Pink City Prints dress is possibly more festive.

I almost linked your one.

The Batsheva dress is rather lovely, and it's cotton velvet. It's oddly pleasing that it goes from 0 to 20 and it's sold out in sizes 0 and 18.

Velvet is lovely but in my experience venues for winter wedding receptions are so well heated that you don't want anything too warm in itself.
