Yes, I’ve seen the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream advertised as “full-sized” at 25mls.

GracePalmer33 · 24/10/2023 14:57

I went into Boots in the Trafford centre today to buy the calendar - it was showing as in stock online. There wasn't even a display or any signs or anything even remotely indicating they have brought out an advent calendar. Staff didn't seem to know anything about it and just said to look online 😂 Absolutely baffling!!! It was going to be a bit of a spontaneous purchase so now I've left and had chance to think about it I might not buy... decisions decisions.
Still, quite surprised such a big store like the one in the Trafford centre aren't promoting it or have any in stock..... strange v strange.

pinkchampagne1 · 24/10/2023 15:39

I have just ordered the Boots beauty box. That is a great deal for all those products and I may gift some for Christmas presents

Puravida23 · 24/10/2023 15:58

@Emmmmz9 the mintd advent was definately reduced last year and possibly the year before. Obviously can’t guarantee it will happen again this year and if you love it absolutely buy it now (it has some good products in it) . But if you are on the fence or prepared to risk it it might be worth hanging on to see what happens

LesLavandes · 24/10/2023 16:11

Do you have to be a subscriber to Mintd to buy the advent calendar?

PomRuns · 24/10/2023 16:23

Oh no I think I have to order the Boots box.

LoveLabradors · 24/10/2023 16:33

The space nk one is just a load of tiny samples. At £250 minimum spend is clearly to try and attract advent purchases.

PomRuns · 24/10/2023 16:40

I just looked at space nk - not remotely interested despite the GWP

Lilothblos · 24/10/2023 16:48

@LoveLabradors It’s pretty rubbish isn’t it unless you’re already planning to get the SpaceNK anyway, a big minimum spend for such small samples.

@Nearlyadoctor There's a 30ml in the Sephora indulgence box. Same price as LF but overall I prefer the Sephora.

@pinkchampagne1 I just don't think the Fenwicks is that great so if you need someone to put you off it... It's only 12 days, contains AB cream, a teeny Barbara Sturm product, one (1) singular bobble, a Benefit product (boring), Escentric molecules which I'm convinced is the emperor's new clothes, and a tiny shampoo and conditioner. The only decent products IMO are the Bioeffect and possible the EviDenS moisturiser (never tried it but it's £££)

That’s what I think to the Fenwicks too. BioEffect serum, Evidens and Delina hair mist are the best products in there. I can’t stand the escentric molecules either…you’ve summed it up well!
I’m also not keen on including the nurse stamp thingy…it’s a recipe for disaster. I’ve tried the BS anti age and it wasn’t a great product…the one BS product I do like is the hyaluronic serum.
Just convincing myself not to purchase for the two products I would like. 😁

For some reason I can't see any mention of a GWP? Is it on the space nk website?! 😕

TheDuchessOfMN · 24/10/2023 17:33

Apologies if this has been posted already but there’s 10% off the Cult Beauty advent with code ADVENTAFF

Gosh, I remember a time when it would be sold out in an hour.

Hopefully this is the beginning of reductions!

Emmmmz9 · 24/10/2023 17:50

Who bought all the Boots awards boxes??!!!
Out of stock now :)

PomRuns · 24/10/2023 17:52

@Emmmmz9 I was too slow - hopefully they’ll restock.

Emmmmz9 · 24/10/2023 18:13

@PomRuns me too. Fingers crossed

halloweensweets · 24/10/2023 20:38

According to Martin Lewis the M&S advent calendar is £45 when you spend £35 on clothing/beauty/homeware.

So it requires an £80 spend overall.

Lilothblos · 24/10/2023 17:10

Ah, thanks!
Gosh that's shit... previous years have been lovely with full size Jo malone candles and all sorts. What a disappointment!

I just clicked through a Liberty email about a gift set of 3 Diptyque (?sp) candles, which I’ve never had but know there are a lot of the brand’s fans on these threads, and was amazed to see they’re just 70g each - “travel size” in AC/Beauty Box language - and it costs the best part of £120!

I don’t think I could ever light them, all that money literally burnt!

TheOwlChronicles · 24/10/2023 21:46

@halloweensweets or a £45 spend if you <cough> take back the items you bought .. (which is naughty of me - not because I am buying this calendar but because I work for them Grin)

Oooh I've considered doing this in previous years but it just feels so wrong!

MavisMcMinty · 24/10/2023 21:54

Yeah, it feels wrong to me, I wouldn’t do it. And I can always use £35-worth of socks - and my frozen hands on this afternoon’s dog walk were a reminder I badly need new gloves.

However, bargain though it is, I’m not very tempted by anything in the M&S AC. And I already have loads of those big (plastic) “vanity cases”, can’t give the damned things away.

AprilLady · 24/10/2023 22:25

@Branster possibly the most expensive but also that MFK calendar must rank as the worse value advent calendar since the infamous Chanel one of a couple of years ago.

MidnightMeltdown · 24/10/2023 22:36

I find it very easy to spend £35 in M&S. The way inflation is going it's probably not much more than a couple of pairs of knickers!

I usually stock up on winter tights from M&S too
