I have just had an email saying that they will honour my sock order even though it was an error - no idea why I was fully expecting it to be cancelled

I had the same email @loz12345 , very weird that they’re honouring it for some and not others! I also found the email itself a bit weird to be honest, “Clearly we’ve made a mistake” sounded a bit blamey/reluctant to me but maybe I’m overthinking it 😂

Just received this RE WS socks I paid 13.95 as I forgot to get the 15% discount. I will put some into the Christmas appeal x

Ah, bless ‘em, I’d feel obliged to buy something else from them as a gesture of goodwill.

Have the Harrods, Space NK and cult beauty and that's definitely my lot.

Now I did go for the Vogue one but had second thoughts and emailed them to cancel it which they did.

I thought that too actually. If they're honouring it anyway and losing the cash they may as well not take a tone, I'd have felt more goodwill without the passive-aggressiveness but oh well. I get my socks. I wonder if they're honouring it for single orders but think multiple orders was a bit too cheeky..?

If the socks are decent I have no doubt I'll buy more from them

I placed two sock advent calendar orders and I've had the email to say that one of them has been cancelled but the other will be honoured. When I check my order history, one of them shows the advent calendar has been cancelled and the other pair of sock is ready for collection, but the other shows the advent calendar as ready to ship. I hope I get it as my daughter always arrives home with a collection of truly manky and mismatched socks😆

I got the same and also forgot to use the 15%. Maybe they are honouring those who didn't get the 15% too?

I agree that the tone of the email from WS is a bit off.

The way that they've said, 'as indicated by our 2 for 1 badge' makes it sound as though they're saying, 'you knew full well that this was a mistake and decided to take advantage anyway'.

I do feel a little sorry for them tbh as I think that they are generally struggling as a retailer, and Christmas sales are crucial to retailers atm - however they are dreaming if they think that are going to shift that sock calendar at £39. It will almost certainly be in the January sale anyway.

I have had the WS email too and they are honouring my order from Saturday morning. I did expect it to be cancelled.

I didn't use the 15% on either of mine, one was Friday evening and one Saturday morning but both cancelled. Still no email

I found the email a bit odd too - if they had cancelled it I would have been fine with it but the tone of the email has made me feel less guilty about getting it now

The Fenwicks calendar has a nice gwp. It is only a 12 day advent calendar though.
The other offer is the Look Fantastic calendar and beauty chest combination. Think the chest is £120 but if you also buy the calendar then you can get both for around £163.

I bought the JL calendar for £170 as I had a £25 off voucher in my rewards section but the rewards seem to vary for everyone.

They said they will honour my sock advent too .Paid £13.95 but I wondered if it was the same as last years calendar that they were selling up until recently heavily discounted?
Anyway I don’t feel too guilty as I recently paid about £54 for their full price cargo trousers and am a customer of theirs. Plus I will be giving the calendar to my mom with dementia in a care home and we can open them together when I visit. Thank you so much to the person who spread the word on here !

I’ve had the email too (didn’t use the 15% discount). I order from them lots so don’t feel too bad about the £14 I paid!

I found the email odd and unnecessary. Fair enough to send a brief explanation to those who have orders cancelled but seems a waste of time as a ‘just to let you know’ type of thing.

Yes the email doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to say 'we know what you've done' and try to make people feel guilty.

It's the detail that they've gone into that I find odd - 'clearly we've made a mistake as the calendar costs £39 and contains 12 pairs of socks and did not have the 2 for £10 badge ....'

I usually pay around £10 for 5 pairs of socks on Amazon and they are cotton and wool mix.

WS socks are cotton and polyester, so it's not completely outrageous that someone might think that 12 pairs were included in the promotion

The calendars were in the 2 for £10 offer, they are lying in the email. I understand why, but it proves your point on how useless the email is.

Maybe the person who accidentally put them in the offer is the same one who wrote the email!

Kicking myself because I saw this thread at the time but my brain was stuck on The White Company and when I didn't see sock calendars on that website I assumed I was too late.

Well I cracked and have got the Cult beauty Xmas skin care box. I have been through my stash and I have no niacinamide in any of the products I own and I would quite like to try it so the Sunday Riley B nice was the main influencer . That combined with the sunscreen and the cleanser which I will definately use ultimately made it worth buying. I will probably gift/sell the glow recipe moisturiser though as I could slather the whole neighbourhood with my stash No M&S advent for me now though…. Absolutely not!
