Broad spectrum SPF recommendations

I've finally decided I need to sort out my skin and spent hours reading posts over the weekend. I think I've figured it out, and have ordered various bits including vit c serum and retinol.

Loads of posts (and blogs) talk about needing a broad spectrum spf. But unlike the various serums and routines, I can't see any recommendations.

So... TLDR what broad spectrum spf do you use daily to compensate for retinol making your face more sun sensitive?

I don't wear makeup. So it isn't something that needs to go with a foundation.

Thanks

I love this one. It lasts for ages, and doesn't feel like you are wearing anything heavy. I have also used some of their one's in tubes, Clean Screen I think it was. I liked that one too.
You can get both at Space Nk and if there's one near go and have a try first (I am really fussy so always try to.)

Broad spectrum is a US specific term, it means there's a certain minimum ratio of UVA protection in proportion to UVB. They're less strict in the US about UVA requirements and they have less filters available to them (very few UVA filters and range) due to regulation so anything that isn't considered broad spectrum will mostly just protect against UVB rays.

For the European market most sunscreens would qualify easily as broad spectrum but if you want highest UVA protection look for ones with a PA++++ rating and/or an icon with UVA encircled.

My current preferred sunscreen is Beauty of Joseon's Relief Sun.

There's 2 that I like - one by gruum (spf30) and the Bobbi brown primer plus protection (spf50). Both go on clear and feel nice on the skin. Best I've tried so far.

Thank you! This is really helpful. I hate the heavy, sticky, sweaty feel of summer holiday style suncream so really appreciate the suggestions of brands which might be better for daily wear. And also foe the explanation - I am quite clueless!
