Best purple shampoo that won't actually turn my hair lilac!

My hair is bleached a very silvery blonde colour. It looks lovely for a few days after having it done. but when the toner wears off it can start to look yellow. Can anyone please recommend a good purple toning shampoo that won't actually tint my hair.

I use the Aussie one and that works fine for me. Sorry can’t do clicky link but most supermarkets and Amazon sell it.

Kerastase.

Olaplex and Kerastase are both great. Found Bleach London super drying

Thank you for all the suggestions. Because I only had it bleached last week I know my hair will be very porous, so scared it will soak up the purple and I'll look like Marge Simpson!

I bought this one ( which was a big bottle and lasted ages). My rather fancy hairdresser who now works out of home coincidentally uses this at home too .. and he uses Keratese in the salon. I would probably dilute it with another shampoo in the first instance to see how it goes.

Just started using Plantur 39. Seems all right so far but it gets mixed reviews.

Kerastase.

This one is brilliant. Used it last night actually. Brassiness gone and no purple leftover.

Olaplex one is the best for me and I tried loads. Was getting a few patches of lilac with it but then my hairdresser told me to make sure I put it in my palm, add a bit of water and mix it up a bit befor putting it on my hair.

I second this. I've searched for a purpleshampoo that's not too much. I really like this. It tones down without too much of a lilac tinge ( which I hate)

I third this one. Had the same 1l bottle for 2 years as it goes very far and only needed to use every 2 months or so!

Kerastase is brilliant and doesn't leave any purple in your hair, or hands, which was my concern when choosing one! Make sure to get the Bain Ultra-Violet (there's a whole purple range but this is the one you need, the other shampoo in the range is clear - this one is purple). Advised by my hairdresser to use once a week, and it can be mixed with another shampoo if desired. I don't find it gets my hair properly clean, so I tend to use it first then another shampoo after, and it has a great effect on any brassy tones.

Fanola

I swear by Osmo silver shampoo and conditioner. They always leave my hair a really clear blonde without making it lilac (unless I choose to leave it on for longer of course)

psuedocream3 · 11/10/2023 11:21

I use Osmo, it's great
