Plus size city break in cold climate

I'm going on a week long Nordic holiday in winter and I have no idea what to wear. Can you help me pick some outfits?

I'm size 18-20, big tummy, small boobs, tall, early 40s. Won't wear anything too fitted or without a waist. Usually wear midi dresses and flat ankle boots or jeans and blouses. Budget is high street - would normally spend £50 on a dress for example, £75 max.

Will be spending my days walking around cities, visiting museums, shopping in markets, drinking mulled wine and eating a lot. So a lot of time outdoors. Would love to look stylish but be practical too.

I always struggle with autumn/winter clothes and could really use some fresh ideas for this trip.

Just wear what you'd wear here with a big coat. Scandinavia is wet and cold just like the UK!

For a cold Nordic trip, layers and warm, waterproof coat and comfortable warm, waterproof boots are your essentials. Tog24 do a good range of sizes and have some good offers on https://www.tog24.com/collections/womens-jackets-and-coats but you could also pick up a bargain from eBay/Vinted etc as people often buy for a holiday then sell on. Didriksons also good range of sizes. Will it be properly icy/snowy? If so, get a pair of YakTrax just in case - they don't take up much room but are a life saver if icy. Sorel boots are great - again look for second hand. I've been on a few properly cold Scandi breaks - I went with Uniqlo Heattech base layers and ,M&S do a good version too and I wore my comfiest jeans and jumpers - maybe a smarter top of I was going to a nice restaurant but you spend so much time peeling off layers then back on as typically inside is so much warmer! Maybe a jumper dress with warm wool tights or tunic dresses with same. A decent coat allows you to be much more flexible. I hope you have a fabulous time!
