Have just had an order delivered and hadn’t considered/noticed that the washing instructions are handwash only? Is it really? Looking at reviews, someone has said they machine washed, no spin, one of the jumpers I ordered and it shrank massively. I think I’m returning it for that reason alone but just wanted to check with you lot first!

As an aside, the sizing isn’t very uniform is it? Sleeves on one barely hit my wrist, on the other they are literally 4” longer … on the website, they both sit above thumb joint on models which looks pretty standard.

I really don't understand why there is so much angst about handwashing? It's not difficult and doesn't take a lot of time.

You do know that wool jumpers don't need to be washed after every wear? Not by a long shot, especially if you're wearing them on top of a shirt, vest , t- shirt.

I throw all my wool in the machine on a wool wash... can confirm lovely Celtic and Co jumper is now felt.

The Celtic & Co jumpers rarely need washing if you wear a vest/T-shirt underneath. I have two and occasionally give them a quick hand wash which is easy (the drying takes quite a long time).

I've had lots of Celtic and Co lambswool jumpers. I always machine wash them on the wool cycle and dry outside. Never had a problem.
Cashmere has to be hand washed though, drained and dried flat.

So best err on the side of caution as definitely don’t want felt (ouch @Colinthedaxi). Honestly, I can handwash a jumper, I do wear a long sleeved thermal underneath and they do get multiple wears before washing … it’s just a pita having to handwash and finding somewhere for a rolled damp towel so more about my laziness than anything!

But yes it does take time. I don't want to be hand washing anything and that is the very first thing I check for now when buying.

The one I got was vastly over sized and then my H put it in the washing machine ( unsupervised) 😣It now is awful .
