I have tried it on and love the colours, shape, fit etc. It’s the white specks that bother me - are the naff, old fashioned, too rustic?

I don’t like it for that reason. From the picture it looks worn. Not sure if that’s the case in rl.

Well it’s a perfectly nice jumper in my opinion. Not terribly exciting or fashion forward I guess but I don’t want that for most of my clothes.
I like the shape I think it’s flattering and a very useful/practical piece of clothing.
The main ooh though is if you like it?

@Azaeleasinbloom if you have an IPhone and click on the image it'll bring up some options scroll down and click on Google Lens and it'lll tell you where it's from. John Lewis btw. Smile

It's not "dated". It's a Donegal knit in a classic , boxy style (and which took off like wildfire after The Banshees of Inisherin)

That colour is more traditional than the pale blue, and much nicer than the pale blue.

Whoever paired it with those appalling jeans should be fired. They could make just about anything look dreadful

The darker colour to my eyes is much better and a more traditional Donegal knit.

I can't imagine it in light blue. Definitely feel it looks better darker although I agree about the specks. They ruin it. Also agree it looks bloody awful with those jeans!

Blue version here.

The specks are a traditional feature of Donegal knitwear. I like it. I don't like the blue.

'Donegal' yarn is flecky so if you don't like flecks..... the pale blue has them too, you just need to zoom in. I love the colours and shape too, but wouldn't buy because of the 20% recycled poly content.

Well put. I was struggling to come up with why I don't like it. It's a different vibe from the dark version.

Although to be fair to the blue version the styling for it is terrible too.

It would look much better paired with something like this or other Plümo dresses and skirts.

I think it's very ugly and that neckline needs a long slender neck with a tight and defined jawline.

Please can you link me some good jumpers please, for a shortie? This was the best I could fine, tried on a dozen in M&S today, £22 fully plastic one fits best.

Budget not an issue, what look good in the chunky style?

I think the black/darker one is beautiful! Almost enough for me to go buy it and I'm on maternity leave with seriously tight funds haha.

The jeans are terrible but they actually look quite nice with the jumper French tucked
