Preloved designer bag

I've had an unexpected refund & I'm planning on treating myself with the money. I'm looking at preloved designer bags, not any one brand or make atm still deciding if I want a daytime or smaller going out bag.

I've been looking at Handbag Clinic & have just had a quick glance at Vestaire Collective. Any experience of buying from either of these? Would HC be more trusted? Any other sites to consider?

I would try luxury FB selling pages rather than the places you've mented, you'll get better value for money.

@Floofydawg it's just how would I know they were authentic?

The good selling pages have moderators on there. Sellers have to post specific photos of certain parts of the bag, and the mods can tell if they're fake. All posts have to be authorised. I've bought Mulberry & LV and never had a problem.

I already have a mulberry & have saved a few of theirs on HC, also a couple of Prada, a Gucci (which I don't think I'd like), Salvatore Ferragamo. Bit of a mix, I'm not set on any one designer tbh

I’ve had good experiences with Vestiaire - both clothes and bags. For a tiny fee they will physically inspect an item to confirm it’s in exactly the state declared by the seller, and authenticate its provenance, before sending it on to you.

What this means in practice is that they once informed me a Margiela bag I’d ordered wasn’t up to scratch, so I could cancel if I wanted. Which I did.

I use that additional service for more expensive things but skip it where I don’t mind taking a tiny risk. Never been disappointed so far.

I’m not on Facebook and haven’t encountered Handbag Clinic so can’t comment on them.

@MayIDestroyYou thanks for the info. I'd happily pay a little to be sure. I'm not spending £'000's up to £650 but it's a lot of money for me so I don't want to spend it on something rubbish.

I am a member of the Totally Addicted to Mulberry fb group and it's very well run and there is a selling page.

I use the WOC lounge on Facebook. Bought a few things. Very good.

I've had a couple of lovely bags from Addicted to Handbags and Naughtipigeonsnest (NPN) www.npnbags.co.uk/ . Would recommend both of these.

I’d avoid vestaire and don’t trust their in house authentication . wherever you buy from get it authenticated again.

Sellier Knightsbridge is CRAZY overpriced!

I got a lovely Proenza Schouler PS1 from Vestaire - £2k new, I paid £450. In pristine condition. Recommend.

Would avoid VC as heard not so good reports of their ‘in house’ authentication.

I previously bought from NPN (multiple times), and various Mulberry and LV pre-loved/reseller FB groups and never had a problem and would recommend.

Just make sure you pay PayPal Goods & Services ONLY on these groups and be meticulous with the photos provided (re: condition).
