I really like these. I think they would be good for work (business dress).

Would probably wear with bootcut trousers, blouse and Jacket.

I'm 50, Dd is 18 and is horrified.

I am on my feet most of the day and have a bit of a walk from the carpark.

I am also a fire marshal so footwear needs to be enclosed and sturdy --but still business dress

No DM's would be the wrong vibe it's more standard business kind of wear.

Not my style but of you like them you should get them and enjoy wearing them regardless of what anyone else thinks

For £50 I am not expecting leather. I have had boots from this designer before and they are fine for the money.

Don’t mind the colour or shape. Could even tolerate the patent (although true ox blood would be far superior) but that zip is heinous.

I love patent but think these have a lot going on. However if you love them, get them.

The second boots are much nicer in that budget. Though the heel is a bit high?

I have ordered the Carvela ones.

The brief is smart business wear, (no jumpers or cardigans) so tailored jackets, skirts, trousers etc (no denim) smart shoes which must enclose your foot.

Quite difficult not to be ultra boring.

Thanks for the Monsoon suggestion I have never considered them for footwear.

I think the Carvella boots fit the brief.

I don't like the heels, the material or the novelty zip. The colour is OK, everything else is not.

Not my style personally but if you're planning on wearing them with trousers wouldn't the zip detail be covered and therefore pointless?
The carvella ones are nice but the heel looks a bit high if you're on your feet a lot.
