Without looking ridiculous, what steps would you be taking now?

I'm mid 50s, 5'"7, size 10, sometimes an 8 if it's not too fitted on the hips, well toned.

Blonde crop, a summer colour palate.

Don't get on very well with heels, don't usually wear much makeup. I usually aim for attractively understated. I'd quite like to make for of an impact at this one, but aware that could backfire. Middle aged sexy could translate as aging prostitute, so we'll try not to do that 😆

That's why I like the halternecks, bare shoulders but not obvious with cleavage.

To me the sexy camisole under a tux is much more try hard 😆 and only really works with proper killer heels

If you're tall with nice legs I'd wear a really short fitted dress but with a higher neck line and long sleeves. Red lip. Heels.

I don't want a jump suit, most aren't very flattering from the back, they're awkward and again, surely more tryhard than most dresses?

I'm 39, shorter and heavier than you OP but I'm a big fan of looking sexy as hell at the Christman party 😀 I do see it as an opportunity to look festive though so usually involve a sequin or several.

I think this year I might go playsuit or jumpsuit for a change. I love dark green and/or gold for a festive look. Black doesn't suit everyone and can fade into the background a bit.

My boss is in her 50s and slim and she wore an electric blue jumpsuit last year, similar to that Clarissa one and it looked great.

I think if you're trying to catch someone's eye, a colour is better than black. That's just me though.
