Cloud Nine Retro

Been away for a few days with a friend and used her Cloud Nine straighteners. They made my hair so smooth and glossy compared to my ancient GHDs, so now considering investing in a pair.

Does anyone have the Retro pair? They are on sale (granted, in hideous colours), but are only £80 compared to the originals at £160.

It’s hard to see what the difference is. Wondering how the cheaper retros compare to the original ones and if it’s worth paying more.

I haven't tried the retro but I have the Cloud 9 original wide iron and it's so much better than my GHDs! With the originals you can choose different temperature settings whereas the retros are always set to 190 degrees. Personally I always use the setting that's around 180-190 as any lower isn't as effective and any higher causes damage, so the lack of variable temperature wouldn't put me off if that's the only difference!

Thanks for your reply. I’m not bothered about the variable temperature either. Now to decide if I go retro in the hope that their cheapest model is as good.
