Black or tan?

I'm planning to buy the Hush Rory bag, but I'm struggling to decide between black and tan. I originally thought tan, but now I'm worrying how versatile it will be? Is tan effectively a 'neutral' that you can wear with anything, or does it clash with some colours? Black feels safer, but is it a bit boring? Plus I have other black bags (just cheap ones).
It's quite a lot of money for me, so I want to get it right!

Tan!

Normally I'd say tan but the Rory tan is really cheap looking. The black isn't much better (why they couldn't use good matte leather I don't know!) but black at a push.

Oh really. That's disappointing. Maybe I'll have a rethink.
I don't want to spend that much for it to look cheap.
