80':s ladies night out

I have got a ladies night out with some other school Mum’s and it's 80's dress up and I am wondering where I can go to shop for 80's outfit for the outing please

1980s was all shell suits wasn't it?

Taffeta ballgowns.
Tiaras.
Piecrust collars.
Icelandic sweaters.
Wellies.
Laura Ashley floral frocks and tartan skirts.
Boxy, gold buttoned Next suits.
Brightly coloured Benetton knitwear.
Big red braces.

Gosh, it was brilliant!

Do you know anyone in their 60s or 70s who doesn’t throw stuff away, @crazywor? Just raid their attic or cellar …

Skinny jeans, piecrust shirt and cowboy boots.
The style is similar to today, but you need brighter eyeshadow, coloured mascara and your blusher needs to be a stripe on the cheek rather than the cheek bone.

I'd try to go for a Bananarama look.

or the goth/psychobilly look. Massive quiff, leather jacket, ripped fish nets, rubber skirt and basque top. Plus loads of black eyeliner, red red lips and black nails.

Or maybe that was just me ...

No that was 90s. Saw my first shell suit in October 1989 on my honeymoon but it was worn by a couple from London. Didn't reach my town until 90s.

So much fashion that decade!

Late 80s, all power dressing, big shoulders, ruffled/pie crust blouses, bouffant hair - Melanie Griffith in Working Girl

501s, Crew neck t shirts, flat tops - that sort of off duty USNavy look was popularised by Bros - particularly with Grolsch bottle caps on your shoes.

Plenty of Laura Ashley too.

Nope. Not just you… my sporty, popular 15 yo dd would be horrified if she saw me at about her age.

Jumpsuits were in around 1987.
Striped shirt with a leather tie, leggings and court heels.
Puff ball skirts or mini denim skirt.
Big shoulder pads.

I think the best looks were early 80s.

New Romantics were pretty much over by 1981 but it was the best of times: Blitz Club, Spandau Ballet, Steve Strange.

Or the Vivienne Westwood pirates look: Adam Ant.

Or anything Grace Jones.

I have no idea where you'd source outfits like that now but you'd have a great time looking.

An easy look would be cropped slim trousers, a big over sized shirt cinched in with a wide belt, long beads, dangly earrings, pointed shoes, lots of eyeliner, back combed hair. Hello me circa 1985.

I haven't got those fabulous legs of Tina though
but can get leather mini skirt, denim jacket & the Tina wig on eBay oh and wear a t shirt with Tina's photo under the denim jacket.

Or shall I just go for my big pink jumper & neon green leggings, leg warmers & black patent Stiletto shoe
