Curly hair wisdom, please!

I'm in a funk with my hair. It's shoulder blade length, mainly brown with some emerging greys that I'm not planning to dye, and very, very thick and curly (3A / 3B).

It looks great about once (sometimes twice) a week when I wash and style it, which takes literally hours (curly girl method) and then gradually gets scruffier through the week, ending up stuffed into a bun with crazy wispy bits sticking up from my face the days before the next wash.

I'd love it to be more polished and presentable, but I just don't have the time in my life to wash and style it in full more than twice a week, at this length. I'm not sure I could pull off a very short style as I'm plus size and round-faced.

If you've got similar hair and are look put together and lovely most of the time, please tell me your secrets!

I have this kind of hair. It's very thirsty and drinks conditioner. I have it in a chin length or slightly longer graduated bob. My hairdresser thins the ends so it doesn't stick out.

CGM didn't work for me.

i use the only curls conditioner, makes such a difference. And I only comb it with the two pronged end of a comb.

That sounds like me! Went for a graduated Bob for a bit of shape. I struggle with CGM cos it takes so long to dry, find it better if I wash it on an evening, let it dry slightly and then tie it up and sleep on it. Next day I run some styling cream through it and tadah!

I can get 4 days out of it if I add a bit of styling cream each morning. I also never brush it comb it 😬
To combat the grey I just went mad and it's now bright pink!

Enjoy your curls 😀

Ah thank you. I can see some nice pictures of graduated bobs, I might give it a whirl.
