Maui Jims?

It took me years before I invested in prescription sunglasses, and once I did I bought cheap ones. I'm getting old. I take care of my things. And I would like to buy naice sunglasses. So I thought this was going to be Rayban, but I went to a shop and learned about Maui Jim. The pair I like was £295. That's just the frames. They seem to have great CS, but I guess I'm posting to ask if anyone can talk me out of this. Anyone had a terrible experience of this brand? Stories of losing them doesn't count. I simply never lose anything.

Love my Maui Jim sunglasses but they aren’t prescription, very good lenses. I think you’re going to never really like what you have if you settle for something other than what you want. If you can afford it, go for it!

DD used to work for an optician, they sold Maui Jim's and they were very good quality, she still has them and still look great now (5 years later)

That's good to hear!

The optician told me this isn't an impulse buy and to look them up. I have, and they seem good...

I have Maui Jims and also a pair of polarised RayBans. I wear them for skiing mostly, but also working outside in very sunny weather. The MJs are extremely technically good and really do take the glare off but I actually prefer the RayBans which have a really nice graduated colouring. I think they look better too but I have had them both for a while so there must be loads of new styles since then!

Hm, that's useful to know. I do experience flare day to day, but perhaps more time in the shop will help me decide!

I got a pair for £280 about 5 years ago. I absolutely love them and if they eventually break I’m getting some more.

I've heard MJ are good but my favourite is Randolph Engineering, they make sunglasses for military & airline use. I have 2 pairs plus my everyday specs are in Randolph frames.
