Something other than a pashmina...

I'm going to a wedding next weekend, in a leopard print dress. Quite lairy. But it's October...

As pashminas are apparently totally out of fashion, what warming outer layer should I wear?

My leather jacket looks pretty fabulous (I think), but this is a very formal do, so not appropriate.

Must be black.

Thoughts?

A cape!

Findyourneutralspace · 29/09/2023 21:45

Can we see the dress?

EpitomeofEpiphany · 29/09/2023 21:51

Yeah it would help to see the dress. But maybe some thing like this...

It's not for sale anymore! I'll take a picture of the actual dress tomorrow.

But, it is a coral coloured, leopard print wrap dress, shin length, short sleeves!

Could you wear a little black faux fur wrap?

I would just wear a nice coat if you have a smart-ish looking one, or could borrow/hire one. You will take it off as soon as you're inside anyway. If you buy one, you'll get wear out of it again
Will you realistically wear a cape type thing again?
That said, do you really care if pashminas are "out?" If you have one and you like it, just wear it!- honestly, everyone at a wedding is so busy worrying about what they're wearing, they don't pay too much attention to any of the other guests!
Have a lovely day.. your dress sounds fab!

I agree. I don't understand the problem. At this time of year it's too cold to wear a dress outside without another layer but other than getting to and from the ceremony and possibly another journey to the reception you're not going to be outdoors. I suppose there might be photos outside in which case, leave coat on until last minute/ wear it open/ wear it over your shoulders so the dress shows.

Jackets and dresses can be very difficult to get right.
