Was looking to buy a bottle of this for my aunts 90th birthday because her late husband always used to buy it for her. However when I went onto their website it said they had stopped making any fragrances in 2022.Does anyone know if there are any reputable playi could still buy any?

Oh wow - was just thinking of this yesterday! I wore it in my final year as an undergraduate in the 1980’s - it really suited the generally rainy climate and used to bring such ecstasy to my morning walk to lectures.

I can’t help with your search, I’m afraid.

However - even if you were to locate a genuine bottle I’d be really wary of confronting your aunt with it. Unless she’s specifically said she’d like to have it? Perfume can be so powerfully evocative - there are things I couldn’t bear to smell again because they bring back memories I would rather not stir. I think it’s equally valuable for elderly people to receive gifts that look to the future, rather than the past.

Yes I know what you mean however I know she associates this perfume with happy times in her life and she's often said she'd love another bottle.

This will help you date bottles to see if they're genuine.
There's a lot on eBay. Some clearly fake, some genuine but discoloured so the top notes will have gone, though the mid and base should be ok still.

Ask any sellers to send detailed pics of the bottles/boxes for dating.

Good luck!

Try Direct Cosmetics online. I've used them before and had no issues. They stock discontinued fragrance and beauty.

I would try eBay and look for the oldest unopened bottle you can find. Modern reformulations may not smell the same.

My local perfume shop had some this afternoon when I asked. Its imported. Fascination of Lytham. Hope you get sorted

StarDolphins · 30/09/2023 23:15

my hoarder mum has 11 bottles of this in her front room, probably from the 80’s😱

I think eBay would be your best bet but it’s knowing if it’s fake.

Must say I couldn’t bear to start such a search, knowing how much I loved it in the past. I’d be so scared of huge disappointment if what I ordered and received was fake or nothing like the original.
