... V neck tops that cover my tummy but not my hips.
What about you? What would your clothes shop stock?

OP posts:

Tops which you can wear under jumpers- so no flouncy sleeves

Which aren't cropped

Are v - neck and don't have naff slogans and patterns on them

Lentilweaver · 29/09/2023 10:41

Clothes for grown up women in natural fabrics, not for 5-year-olds.

Rina66 · 29/09/2023 10:41

I would stock jackets that are not overly tailored nor as slouchy as a cardigan, something in between, again in various lengths, with skimming sleeves and various fabrics that will look good with jeans, skirts or dresses and be comfortable. I would love a selection of these especially in evening fabrics too.

Bias cut clothing which is how gentle stretch used to be achieved before everything had lycra.

Flattering jeans in good denim without all of those awful fake cats whisker markings and rips.

Grown on waistbands.

Authentic tan leather boots, shoes, belts and bags, not that awful fake orange looking stuff.

100% cotton pyjamas for grown women. No children's characters, no florals or stars, no cutesey slogans. Just block colours you can mix and match for the seasons. Be cosy, be cool, don't feel ridiculous if you answer the door.

Sleepwear for women is so creepy. No, I don't want to dress like I'm 8. What is wrong with you?

I recommend Land's End for the type of pyjamas you want.

Dresses with the waist of the dress in the same place as the waist of a person and not just below the tits, and not made of jersey fabric or polyester shite.

No frills and flounces, I want dresses not curtains.

Cotton and linen and what is needed for dresses, and yes, as above, pockets.

Yes why have they become Empire Line

I'm long waisted and they are too high

Dramalady52 · 29/09/2023 13:22

Trousers that have tapered legs. Have big bum and tum so don't like skinny fits, but wide legs have material flapping round the ankles which I catch my feet in!

Crikeyalmighty · 29/09/2023 13:55

I would also make some 'bravissimo' type ranges- im in mourning still for their clothes as a big boobed 5ft 3

Teddleshon · 29/09/2023 13:58

Clothes made of absolutely beautiful fabric with great detailing and cut that can be worn every day. With pockets.

Daffodilwoman · 29/09/2023 14:39

I’m going to add shoes for wide feet. Decent good quality but attractive shoes.
I’m not 95 so why can’t I buy shoes the same as someone with a thin foot?

TheMousePipes · 29/09/2023 20:40

Well cut basics in natural fibres in a rainbow of colours. Without froth, frill or frippery. In a wide range of sizes that are cut for that size person, not sized up or down from a one size fits all pattern. Ethically produced as well please.

RampantIvy · 29/09/2023 21:06

I would not stock those awful one size fits all clothes. They don't. They only look good if you are a size 16.

sashh · 30/09/2023 03:33

Rearrange the stock by size. Why does everyone have to walk around the entire store to find their size?

Accessible changing room with mirrors I can see from different angles.

If you can't get stock with pockets in start selling pockets, the old fashioned (go back 200 + years) with pretty belts that complement your other stock.

Pockets are a suffragettes issue.

Princessfluffy · 30/09/2023 04:20

Knee socks
Fairisle
Quality T-shirts and other basics in bright colours
Natural fabrics
Somewhere to sit down and refill your water bottle

VioletCharlotte · 30/09/2023 07:41

I would also make sure the shop was a comfortable temperature. I gave up on shopping last weekend as the shops were so hot it was ridiculous!

Teddleshon · 30/09/2023 09:16

@VioletCharlotte I couldn't agree more, why do shops do this - I find it insufferable, particularly if you're after winter clothes.

The shops in our local shopping mall are too cold. The aircon is ridiculous.

Daffodilwoman · 30/09/2023 16:19

Yes plenty of mirrors.

Insommmmnia · 30/09/2023 16:22

Clothes over a size 16

I'm fed up of brands that stock my size online, so they want my money, but don't want my fatness in their actual shop

FrillyGoatFluff · 30/09/2023 17:21

Stuff that's out of season, so when you're off on holiday in October or February half term, you're not limited to Vinted or online

DemBonesDemBones · 02/10/2023 09:14

I only know what I wouldn't stock. Animal print. So ageing, so cheap. So over it.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 02/10/2023 15:03

Tailored shirts with button on collars and cuffs, in different styles and lengths, so one day grandad style with double cuff, another day wide pointed collar with small embroidered cuffs for example / dresses with variable length bodies, so no sew in waist that is far too high or with no waist but side flared panels / reversible items, so coats, jackets, dresses, to get the most from an item / interesting linings, with pleats to enable movement / underwear you wear and does not endeavour to squeeze, grip, divorce itself from your body as you move!

But my heaven would be a shop selling only animal prints! ❤️ Soft ones.

I love animal print! I dress top to toe in it some days.

Deathraystare · 06/10/2023 19:43

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow ·

No polyester, it's just a sweat fest.

Especially not polyester that is recycled and still mysteriously costs £150 for a dress. (I don't know who is buying this crap but please stop - you're only encouraging them).

Ditto bastard Viscose/Tencell/Lyocell/Bamboo etc etc.

JemOfAWoman · 10/10/2023 10:21

Blouses, shirts and tee shirts without pockets on the breast. Absolute no need for these monstrosities ever!
