... V neck tops that cover my tummy but not my hips.
What about you? What would your clothes shop stock?

Shoes in size 42.5

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 28/09/2023 22:58

Soft, soft, soft 😊

MonumentalLentil · 28/09/2023 23:04

Dresses with the waist of the dress in the same place as the waist of a person and not just below the tits, and not made of jersey fabric or polyester shite.

No frills and flounces, I want dresses not curtains.

Cotton and linen and what is needed for dresses, and yes, as above, pockets.

MonumentalLentil · 28/09/2023 23:09

Plain white T shirts that are not see through or too thick, with all kinds of sleeve lengths and necklines but no crew necks.

rhiannon1967 · 28/09/2023 23:13

And ladies socks in size 9-11 so I get all the nice colours and glitter and stuff and don't always have to shop in the mens.

And 'quarter' socks because I don't always want no show socks which make my ankles cold but I don't want long ones. In black and navy as well as in white.

And ladies slippers in a size 42.5 or 43 but regular width not wide because nowhere but nowhere sells them and the men's are far too wide!

And the 'big' shoe sizes will be on the top shelf and not the bottom so you don't have to kneel on the dirty floor and lift out all the 7s at the front of the floor level shelf to reach the 8s right at the back on the off chance that you might fit into them. Here's looking at you M&S!

MonumentalLentil · 28/09/2023 23:15

Comfortable underwear.
Supportive bras that are not underwired or made like old fashioned corsets because it seems that if you have heavy boobs you can only wear scaffolding and don't want comfort.

Cotton knickers that look good and stay in place on the bum cheeks instead of creeping up and leaving the lower half un-knickered.

Half slips that are not made of static fabric.

MonumentalLentil · 28/09/2023 23:16

Unlined dresses that are made of decent non static fabric that isn't see through.

Dotcheck · 28/09/2023 23:16

Maireas · 28/09/2023 19:34

White tshirts that aren't see through.

My god, yes.

And blouses that have buttons close enough together so there’s no gap

whatt2do · 29/09/2023 00:03

And our handbags will come with no exterior logo or random extra metal wear and they will be lined with good quality fabric in beautiful colours.

We'll be famous for the perfect work bag with wider straps to take weight, the perfect sized crossbody and a beautiful slouchy tote that has a zip top and internal pockets.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 29/09/2023 06:03

Yes to this. I Iove a good handbag, me. But many of the bags that might otherwise be lovely are blighted by lots of crappy blingy hardware and by a conspicuous logo. I know that the logo is what makes the bag valuable for a certain kind of buyer but when buying an expensive bag many of us just want to carry around something lovely, in the softest of lovely leather, not super-showy. Just a practical and comforting object that gives us something of the consolation that we received as children by carrying a favouriate soft toy around, plus also space for Three Useful Things and a kilo of unsifted junk.

LolaSmiles · 29/09/2023 06:19

Trousers sold by the actual leg length, not a labelled leg length which is leg length+whatever size heel allowance the shop thinks you want. Then shoppers can choose the leg length they need for their legs and show preferences.

White, and other shades of white and nude, t shirts that are not see though.

ByeByeHouse · 29/09/2023 07:17

Shoes in half sizes, so you don't have to choose between pinchy toes or sloppy boats. I don't want to pay good money for lovely new shoes and then have to stuff them out with all kinds of heel grips and insoles.

Socks in different sizes, like men's shops sell. Almost all womens socks are "one size" which is usually 4–7. Too small for many women, too large for me... the heel ends up half way up the back of my leg.

Zipps · 28/09/2023 20:15

Good quality basics in different materials and every single colour not just black and white.
Dresses etc to fit several body shapes properly not just hourglass.
In-store Dressmakers/Tailors that can alter your purchases while you wait.

This ^^
I would have colours to suit everyone. I am fed up with seeing something in a style I love but only in mustard yellow, lime green or a sludgy colour. I can't afford Kettlewell prices.

Shoes in half sizes
Clothes for pear shapes
Clothes with necklines that aren't too big and gaping or too low. I'm looking at you White Stuff.

Resentful2023 · 29/09/2023 07:52

And consistent sizing so when you go in you only have to take one of each thing into the changing rooms.

RampantIvy · 29/09/2023 08:11

Yes, to consistent sizing.

Uniqlo make great quality non see through T-shirts and fine merino jumpers. Their major drawback is the sludgy colours they have. If they offered these in colours to suit people of all seasons then I would be their biggest customer.

I went into their shop on Oxford Street this summer and their t-shirts are the best quality I have been able to find.

VernonScrips · 29/09/2023 08:27

Next hypercurve jeans, inexplicably discontinued a few years ago. The only jeans that have ever properly fit my small waist and giant thighs and bum.

borntobequiet · 29/09/2023 08:39

Kaill · 28/09/2023 19:36

Size 12-16. The most popular sizes are always out of stock, they only have large or small sizes left. Why don’t they just order more of the popular sizes?

Yes.

OTM1982 · 29/09/2023 08:45

I would stick every colour moncler polo shirt!

JemOfAWoman · 29/09/2023 09:09

T shirts and sweatshirts that don't have naff sayings on them. I'm a grown woman not twelve!!!

anunlikelyseahorse · 29/09/2023 09:20

Jeans, trousers, shorts, skirts dresses all with deep pockets.
Also soft, stretchy easy to wear fabrics, with no scratchy labels.

anunlikelyseahorse · 29/09/2023 09:21

And agree with Jen about no naffness on any tops!

anunlikelyseahorse · 29/09/2023 09:22

Jem not Jen, sorry Jem, fat fingers this morning!

whistlestunelessly · 29/09/2023 09:37

If there was a shop selling summer cardigans in the exact soft pinky-raspberry shade that Boden did in 2010 and I've never seen anywhere since, I'd stock up on loads of them (yes, I've tried Vinted, but no luck).

steppemum · 29/09/2023 09:49

clothes for women who are longer in the torso, but not 6'

I love the idea of T shirts coming in 2 or 3 lengths.

Larger sized clothing coming in petite standard or long. I am larger but also taller, so make the collar to waist longer, not just the length.
Larger clothing also having looser sleeves.

T - shirts - not tight round necks like mens, but not sloopy necks that slide off your shoulder, no cap sleeves, and styled but not tight fit. And those 3 lengths as every womens T is too short on me.

and shoes size 9-11. All shoes, boots, slippers, sandals everything. Why is this something that is so overlooked? There are so many women with big feet and I hate wearing mens trainers/boots, they don;t fit.

Resentful2023 · 29/09/2023 09:58

100% cotton pyjamas for grown women. No children's characters, no florals or stars, no cutesey slogans. Just block colours you can mix and match for the seasons. Be cosy, be cool, don't feel ridiculous if you answer the door.
