Fleece holy grail

Is there such a thing as a stylish fleece? I need something for dog walking which is practical for the cold and wet but doesn't make me look like a fuzzy potato. Mountain Warehouse and Millets offerings all seem poor quality, lumpy and unfitted. Any ideas?

Ooo following. ASOS have loads but I get a bit overwhelmed with the quantity.

Lands End, USA sizes, probably a bigger range will be available nearer winter. They used to do blazers that were actually fleece.

I also got a smart fleece that was quite tailored looking from Rohan

I have a Uniqlo fleece that I have had for at least 10yrs and it's still in amazing condition.
Or, TKMaxx is often great for this type of thing.

Sagittariusrising · 28/09/2023 12:03

@snoooom I was going to suggest Uniqlo too! Love the range of colours that theirs come in.

Passenger do more stylish outdoor wear

or depending on budget more premium end outdoor brands such as Patagonia, Fjallraven, Arc’teryx might have better offerings

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/09/2023 16:12

Have a look a Patagonia. Pricey but beautiful, very well made, and will last you 20 years or more. They no longer distribute directly in the UK, but are stocked by Cotswold Outdoor. They also have great ethical credentials, if that floats your boat.

I have a Berghaus which must be over thirty years old. No pilling.

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 28/09/2023 16:39

I love my Finesterre fleece, it’s made of actual wool so it’s toasty. You do have to go down a few sizes to get a good fit though, they’re generously sized.

mainbrochus · 28/09/2023 16:42

Finisterre have lovely ones …. See if I can find a link

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/09/2023 16:43

Oh yes. Finisterre. End of discussion.

DuchessOfSausage · 28/09/2023 22:54

Get one from a trusted outdoor brand from somewhere like Cotswold
Mine are from Berghaus

Fleur405 · 28/09/2023 23:02

I don’t know that there is such a thing as a stylish fleece. Despite that I love my Uniqlo fleece - got one for my 18 month old and it’s so soft and cosy that I had to get one for me too!

I have somehow acquired (no idea where from!) a Tog24 fleece. I would never ever buy one but it’s been great! I have so many uses for it.

It’s a great shape, amazing for dog walking and a good length.

This is my mysteriously acquired fleece!

Patagonia are lovely, and are expensive but imo are worth the money
Columbia are surprisingly good quality for the price(£40)

Milliondollars · 29/09/2023 13:37

I’ve got a Nike oversized fleece hoody which I live in.
