Opinions please, would the shoes look nice with the dress?

I'm going to a party in November, there is no set dress code but the general vibe is smart-ish (somewhere between smart casual and cocktail).

I have found a dress which is flattering and looks like I have made an effort, but won't look too "done", I am now on the hunt for some shoes.

I cannot face wearing heels, but I'm struggling to find nice party flats that don't cost a bomb and are likely to be comfortable with some cushioning or arch support.

I have seen the ones in the pic from Next but I can't imagine how they would look with the dress. What do you all think? Yay or nay?

I don't get on with pointed toes but if you do then they look nice

@smallshinybutton my big toes are significantly longer than the other ones, so shoes with a pointed toe are perfect for me 😁

I think the flat sandals will look much nicer with the dress than the shoes they've paired it with.

Here's the Next sandals. The high heels are very obvious, no thinking or effort used. The flat sandals are more sophisticated.

Cos and Raey, who are both excellent at long, straight flowing black dresses, style most of theirs with flats or low kitten heels.

@NatashaDancing I'm glad that flats are having a bit of a moment tbh. I spent most of my 20s and 30s in stilettos, but now just the thought of it makes me tired 😁

Update: I have ordered the flats, I'll be collecting them tomorrow

Love the shoes. I have some very similar that I wear to events as I can no longer wear heels.
