Jumpsuit

I really like the look of the SB Gary Jumpsuit but it's out of stock in my size.

Roman have one , Black Elasticated Waist Stretch Jumpsuit, which I might order to try.

Does anyone own a jumpsuit they can recommend?

I am middle aged, short, dumpy , size 14 , no waist to speak of . WFH and looking for casual comfy wear that is not my pyjamas. Something that I could keep on for dog walks and popping to shops etc or dress up .

Asking a lot I know 😁

Honestly? Is that garment really going to bring you joy? I usually wear the shabbiest, oldest things I possess at home - but I Would Not Wear That.

It looks like a toddler romper suit - only most people would choose a nicer fabric and colour for their child.

Surely there are a million better things you could spend £40 on?

EdmontinaDonsAutumnalHues · 27/09/2023 11:40

You could mix something from here:

https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/tops/sweatshirts-hoodies

with something from here:

https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/bottoms/trousers-leggings-sweatpants

Or, if you wanted to spend a bit more for ethical / environmental reasons:

https://communityclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-sweatshirts-hoodies-joggers

(They do make jumpsuits and dresses as well, of course.)

Forgive my unasked for expression of opinion - but given your description of your own appearance, I can’t help thinking it would be nice to buy more uplifting clothes - both for at home and for leaving the house in.

belgiumchocolates · 27/09/2023 16:22

Thank you both. On reflection you are right. I need to think again

Ha! It was just me, @belgiumchocolates.

Obviously no one cares what anyone else wears at home or on their dog walk. But you obviously care about feeling ‘dumpy’ and waist-less? So it’s worth finding some clothes that might help you to like your reflection a bit more. If a black polyester romper suit does that, it’s fine - just thought you might like to consider some other options.

I like jumpsuits. Especially black or navy ones. They are uplifting for me. I like to look like I am mending the boiler.

I would get a better one in cotton. From Thought perhaps. Or Rapanui.

DuchessOfSausage · 27/09/2023 18:04

I like jumpsuits too. That one looks ok.

AnyFucker · 27/09/2023 18:09

I love a jumpsuit but that one is deathly dull

NatashaDancing · 27/09/2023 18:19

I'm with EdmontinaDonsAutumnalHues and AnyFucker.

That jumpsuit is very dull.

I admit I don't like jumpsuits anyway but a colleague occasionally wears them and she has a very stylish denim version and and an even more stylish navy, tailored version. They don't look like the one here.

musicmum75 · 27/09/2023 18:28

I know this is going off topic now, but if you want nice clothes for lounging around at home I really recommend Bam Clothing. It's all made from bamboo and is so soft and cosy but really great quality too. I know it's not a jumpsuit like you asked for but it's a lovely treat.

EdmontinaDonsAutumnalHues · 27/09/2023 19:19

Yup - while not wearing them myself I’ve seen plenty of very fetching jumpsuits, and other people look cool in denim, cord, velvet versions. They possibly wouldn’t be soft and comfortable enough for lounging at home. But lots of other things are.

belgiumchocolates · 27/09/2023 19:56

I like the look of the Bam separates , I'm looking for cosy. I've discarded the black jumpsuit idea, what on earth was I thinking 😂

I have this L F Markey "Mitch" dress. I like that they've kept it as a staple. Mine was bought in summer 2021. It's extremely wearable and although it's short sleeved linen, you can add a long sleeved thermal t-shirt and slip under it, opaque tights and thick jumper or cardigan on top for colder weather.

It washes well too.

Do you have a budget, OP?

belgiumchocolates · 28/09/2023 07:32

I have £100 put aside Charlotte , ideally I'd like to buy more than one item

That's what I thought. In which case some of the suggestions here are too expensive for you. Unless you can find them on Vinted. I never have much luck on there.
