Knee high/slouch boots

Hi. I’ve seen some slouch boots that i feel the need to buy 😂 however not too sure what to wear them with. I’m not a fan of skinny jeans tucked in ( on me, not others) i like them with dresses or skirts that are above the knee, but have recently been wearing midi dresses and love them (new to me as i’m only 5ft and always felt too small for then 🙈) Im thinking they’d look good with a pleated midi skirt and chunky jumper. I’m 54, size 10 and just not overly sure whether wearing them with midi dresses/skirts would make me look frumpy and as you can probably tell from this post i’m not the most confident. Thanks in advance.

Could you post a link to the boots or an image please?

Please erase the word frumpy from your vocabulary, and your age doesn't matter in S&B. If you like slouch boots, wear them with anything you like and feel like a million dollars.

I love a slouch boot. Wear what you like, and suits you, not what all the sheep are wearing.

Thanks ladies. I know you are right. I really do need to be more confident. I have been more so recently, and tbh have felt good in the different styles i’ve been wearing. More so when the “young uns” at work tell me how good i look 😂 x

I think that a bit of heel does elevate a look. It doesn't need to be high heels but just enough. The boots you linked aren't the sort of boots I go for but maybe I should.
They'll look elegant but not try-hard.

anon1968 · 26/09/2023 14:46

Thank you. Out of interest. What type of boot do you go for?

They’re both lovely, just wish I could wear heels !

Tryingandfailingagain · 26/09/2023 15:10

I think black slouch boots that have a pointed toe, & a slight stiletto heel, look very elegant and stylish

I wouldn’t go for block heels with round toes. I think a pointed toe is smarter and sleeker looking. Dune usually have beautiful boots- I always buy in their sale

Devilsmommy · 26/09/2023 15:11

Definitely the first ones though I don't wear heels. Doc martens all the way or Chelsea boots

KirstenBlest · 26/09/2023 15:28

@anon1968 , I have chelsea boots, monkey boots, DM-style derby boots, smart ankle boots (that are from the late 1990s) with a low heel, smart biker boots, mid calf flat wedge ones, knee high riding boots. No heels.
I prefer classic styles that I can walk in
but
on other people I think that a skirt and dress with knee-high with a bit of a heel looks really smart. I don't like suede or tan.

This sort of look (you'll need to scroll down to get the nice ones)

Thanks everyone.

@Tryingandfailingagain i agree about how stylish pointed toes look unfortunately my feet don’t agree lol.

@KirstenBlest thanks for the link. I’ll take a look. 😁. I do love an ankle boot.

Hi @anon1968 , this Forest View Skirt - Seasalt Cornwall shows nice boots. I'm not keen on the skirt, but the long boots look smart.

EllaPaella · 28/09/2023 22:04

I like the slouchy ones. You could wear them with any number of Midi dresses or skirts. A blue denim midi would look lovely as would a corduroy midi skirt.

Denim

anon1968 · 29/09/2023 10:23

@EllaPaella thanks. A blue denim midi was exactly what i was thinking. Love cord too. Autumn is def my fave season for clothes. Think i may even have a denim dress that would be nice. 😊

I like slouch boots with a midi skirt for a 70s vibe. I couldn't wear heels as high as the ones you linked to though. I would look for a low-mid heel and almond toe.

i have these Dune London | Rosa Calf Boots | Flat Ankle Boots | House of Fraser they're very comfy

WimbyAce · 29/09/2023 20:50
