Funeral dress

Hi all. I can see a few posts of this type, so I am hoping to benefit from the collective wisdom. I need an outfit for a close family funeral - quite a big affair - in a couple of weeks. I'm late 50s, size 12/14 with the irritating menopausal tummy. Quite a large bust, so need something that will skim tummy without putting the chest front and centre. I prefer a high-ish neck line. Not a wrap dress, they just don't suit me. October funeral, so likely to be getting cooler, but I want to avoid knitted as I get too hot in those. I've done the usual high street shop sites, and ordered a couple, but no luck so far and time is running out. Any direction you could point me in? Thank you.

Black?

I wore an M&S midi shirt dress to the last funeral I went to - it was black but had a small white print. I think printed/patterned black stuff, or navy/burgundy/dark green is a lot more popular at funerals nowadays. (I'm also always surprised how few men wear a suit - my husband is unbelievably scruffy most of the time - tradesman - but always wears a suit for funerals.)

I'm top heavy and this is really flattering, they do a short sleeve version too

Thanks for all the suggestions. Sorry, should have said - yes, I think black is appropriate in this particular case. Budget - under £100, preferably under £70. I'll work through all your links. Thanks again.

La Redoute, Albaray and the John Lewis one - all looking like worth a closer look. Thanks ladies!

I bought this today in a charcol grey. I'm similar proportions to you OP but bigger (18- 22). It looks really nice on. Great fabric for the price, doesn't look cheap and hangs nicely. I've opted to fasten the belt at the back as I'm very short waisted and look prego with a belt round my waist. Really looking forward to wearing it with knee high boots and a tailored overcoat.
