Really light BB Cream/foundation

Any suggestions for a really light day cover BB cream/foundation? I retired last year and always said I'd like to have the courage to go no make up most of the time, but I always look in the mirror and think aaagh!

Hi there.

I have the same - incredibly pale skin.

Currently, I love Rimmel Match foundation FAIR PORCELAIN 001.

It's a good price too.

TolkiensFallow · 25/09/2023 07:15

I recommend the bareminerals complexion rescue. It’s very light and natural in appearance.

koalaknickers · 25/09/2023 07:16

I've just realised you may have been light as in not heavy, rather than light as in colour?

The Rimmel Match is not heavy either, I find.

MotherofWhippets81 · 25/09/2023 07:17

Definitely Eborian - the silver tube.

It goes on like a moisturiser and changes colour when on your skin. I've switched back to it recently and already I've had a couple of people say 'your skin looks lovely'. It's often on offer on Look Fantastic and you can buy a small one to start.

ButDaddyILoveHim · 25/09/2023 07:20

Another vote for Eborian. Fabulous stuff.

MadeFrom100percentPears · 25/09/2023 07:26

Can you post a link to the eborian products you recommend? Thanks.

Plumpcious · 25/09/2023 07:31

How much do you want to spend? Normal high street price? I like Garnier BB cream because they do a mattifying version.

ThreeBearsPorridge · 25/09/2023 07:36

There seem to be a few Eborian creams and two shades . Confusing.

maimeo · 25/09/2023 08:41

Thanks for both the Eborian and Rommel Match suggestions. Yes, I did mean light as in coverage, not the shade!

I've been using Dcypher drops the past couple of weeks. You can choose foundation or drops that you mix with your moisturiser and I went for the drops. The match is incredibly good - I was sceptical as I've previously used ilmakiyage which I thought wasn't quite the right shade and didn't go on nice (but it was foundation). But so far, I've been really impressed with the colour match and consistency of the drops.

It comes in a Clair (light) or Dore (med) there are also two darker tones but they never seem to be in stock. I'm pale olive and the Clair is fine for me.

dullandgrey · 25/09/2023 09:04

Deffo Erborian cc cream. I'm fair/pale and clair is a great match. Its very light texture wise but gives me a smooth complexion and removed the redness. I've tried others but this is my HG. I didn't like it the first time I used it, it smells a bit funny, but it's fab.

CardamomGarden · 25/09/2023 09:12

Definitely Eborian - the silver tube.

Isn’t the silver one a CC cream rather than BB? I bought the travel size to try it and find it so sheer I barely notice the difference. Keep meaning to try the BB. Very comfortable to wear though.

I’m still trying to find a light makeup as good as Almost Makeup which Clinique discontinued years and years ago. Thay was the perfect balance of comfort and coverage for me.

WhereAreWeNow · 25/09/2023 09:15

Another vote for Erborian. Not the silver tube though. I think it's the BB cream in a white tube.

AlphaAlpha · 25/09/2023 09:23

The erborian BB is, for me, like a full coverage foundation.
The CC is perfect and light and provides a lovely light cover.

Waldenistia · 25/09/2023 10:42

I too use Erborian. I've got the bb and the cc cream. The bb is more coverage. Handy to have both but its the cc I use most days. I'm fair and use Clair. You can buy a small tube to get you started. I think Boots may sell it now.

Sagittariusrising · 25/09/2023 10:48

I've been using Boots No 7 BB cream as I prefer a lighter coverage as I get older. They were really helpful in store with helping to find a good match.

bert3400 · 25/09/2023 11:44

I love Trinny BFF cream . It's really light and has SPF 30 included. Makes my skin look amazing.
.

SausageAndEggSandwich · 25/09/2023 11:49

I have used the erborian one in the past but even the light shade was too dark for me in the winter. I think it's a great product but I only get six months use out of it

I've moved onto tinted moisturiser now - boots hydraluminous which comes in loads of shades

MamaCasey2 · 25/09/2023 11:52

Another vote for Trinny BFF. It's like nothing but you look instantly fresher!

DaisyWaldron · 25/09/2023 12:02

I like Missha BB cream. I, too, thought you meant light as in pale, and I use number 21 which is a good match for winter skin, but it's also light in coverage. I can wear it alone without any other make-up, and it looks fine, and just evens out my skin without looking made up.

musicmum75 · 25/09/2023 12:39

I love light bases and definitely recommend Eborian (the one in the silver tube) but also these:

Ere Perez Quinoa Water - https://www.mypure.co.uk/products/quinoa-water-foundation

Body Shop Second Skin Tint - https://www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/makeup/foundations-concealers/second-skin-tint/p/p119013

Lumene Fresh Skin Tint - uk.lumene.com/products/8184500

ThreeBearsPorridge · 26/09/2023 08:29

Clarins had a fantastic one but they changed the formulation and I don't like the new one nearly as much.
