I have indeed been MIA since mid February. I have a very painful shoulder injury ( possibly due to my caring responsibilities possibly just because i’m getting older and a bit crap) and most days I’m Just managing to get through the day using pain meds and rest. Waiting for an ‘urgent’ nhs physio appointment still. So I’m struggling to even do up a pair of jeans and most days I’ve been in joggers and stretchy tops I can easily get on. It’s a complete drag and poor DD is struggling with DH having to do the majority of the caring which impacts on her pretty badly as he is a) always in a hurry and b) not at all intuitive and c) has adhd so often gets distracted and forgets she needs a
meal!

this is an example outfit I’ve been wearing constantly featuring new hush joggers (plus a cat who wants to get into the bathroom to sit on the radiator) which I ordered on the day I woke up in more pain than I’ve ever experienced before except for a bone marrow biopsy. Both of which made me faint!

thank you so much for all the well wishes I’ve received on here and via DMs. Everyone has been very kind x

Oh no @Sooverthemill , sounds tough. I hope you feel better soon! Why does it take so long for emergency appointments I don't understand 🫤

No fashion points for me today as I'm wearing the classics of mumsy style (or is it called the coastal grandma aesthetic?) - skinny jeans, breton top from Joules, a "practical colour" jacket/cardigan

I’m trying to convince myself that it’s spring, but the weather says otherwise. Today we have fog.

Lovely to see you @Sooverthemill, I hope things get better soon. Felt a bit animal printy today, lol. Can’t remember for sure but think the dress is a scandi label. Boots are Tory Burch.

Hope you get your appointment soon @Sooverthemill , you poor thing.
I have to report that I liked the Me+Em navy waistcoat you showcased a few weeks ago and bought one for myself. You are a bad influence! Xxx

Another office day. I was chatting to a colleague who reminded me that we got sent home due to covid 4 years ago today. We were told to expect to WFH for at least a month. It was sooooo much longer than that! Over 2 years before we were allowed back properly.

You look fantastic in that M&S dress @Purplecatshopaholic , I need to know your workout routine Grin

I'm experimenting a bit with the colours today. Not sure whether dark olive and purple go well together

I hope nobody minds that I'm posting this, I thought somebody might be interested in seeing the makeup trends here.

I've been speaking to my friend who's also been living in Japan for a long time (I think she came here 15 years ago or so?) and for the love of God she wouldn't believe me that some Japanese women actually draw their under eye bags, she thought it's natural even when it clearly looks exaggerated.

I've finally found a good example in a magazine I was reading though - 2 types of makeup with under eye bags and 1 without. Now she'll have to believe me!
Anyway, once again I'm thankful for the Japanese beauty trends, I've started to have some under eye bags since I turned 32 but luckily it's not regarded as an aging sign here so I'm proudly displaying them with no intent to conceal. Grin

They draw on eye bags in Japan @toucaninjapan?! I should move there, I’d be the height of fashion and fabulousness, lol.

toucaninjapan · 14/03/2024 08:58

@Purplecatshopaholic oh yes they very much do.
I said it's not regarded as an aging sign - in hindsight, I should have mentioned that it's not true for all the types of under eye bags. Not sure how you call these, under eye bags close to the cheeks (see attached) are not desirable but anything right under the eyes is supposedly making your eyes bigger and cuter. Bonus points if you add some sparkly or pink eyeshadow there - now you look like you've been crying which is supposed to make you submissive and adorable in the eyes of all the males around. Yay to being the damsel in distress lol

Fascinating @toucaninjapan ! Love your little insights into Japanese culture. My DiL is obsessed with Japanese and Korean beauty products so.i feel I am now far more primed to join the converstion!

henlake7 · 14/03/2024 12:55

I dont think its eye bags they are drawing in TBH, more eye folds. Im pretty sure its popular to have more western eyes with visible eyelids and folds.
Im lucky enough not to have eyebags....what I have instead is huge dark circles that look like Ive been punched in the face!!LOL😆

OublietteBravo · 14/03/2024 14:37

Gosh. Isn’t it interesting how different other cultures are? (Should I confess to initially assuming that people were sticking depictions of eyes on their bags?)
