Thoughts on Theory

I'm thinking of buying a coat from Theory. Has anyone bought from this brand before? If yes, would you recommend it?

I have a few bits from Theory that I picked up overseas and second hand. I find them to be well-made items that I wear regularly, made from good all- or mostly-natural fabrics.

The designs are quite ‘modern classic’, which to me means they are wearable and versatile without being dull. The price point sits roughly alongside or maybe a little above LK Bennett, Hobbs, Winser, etc but I’d say Theory is more ‘edgy’, perhaps more like a neater and less Scandi COS? Not sure if I explained that well…

No idea if this is the case, but my impression of the brand is that it’s designed for smaller frames, and the petite Asian models online might mean I’m right or be a total coincidence. If you have a chance to try it on in store, I would.

Currently, I think it's dreadful, with some of the most inconsistent cutting and sloppy finishing on the high street. It's really no better than Uniqlo (parent company) which is pretty painfully obvious if you ever visit the joint shop in London.
But the older stuff (before Fast Retailing's full takeover in 2010) was solid for workwear so worth looking at secondhand.

Thanks @ShangPie and @clowniform - I'm going to give it a go and hope for the best!
