this is an American link because I can't get Schuh's to work as a link, but I got these here in the UK from Schuh.

of course, my sister laughed her arse off and said they were fug and my mother did one of her sighs again.

Birkinstocks are comfortable, get some of those instead

OverMyDeadBody · 05/03/2008 13:08

They would be fine as approach shoes, you know, for hiking to crags out in the wilderness, but fgs, not for pairing with tights and skirts!

expatinscotland · 05/03/2008 13:08

My sister giggled, 'Have you lost your mind?! Are you going to try to name your child something dumb ass again? You need to get a grip on those hormones' and she laughed and laughed away.

I like your sandals, Expat. People obsessed by other women's footwear have too much time on their hands.
Wear 'em to Madrid with the stripey tights, go on, I dare ya'.

janestillhere · 05/03/2008 13:09

Mmmm. They look like some sort of transformer my ds plays with. They could just suddenly and cunningly TRANSFORM into some beastie. (wink]

Oh it does annoy when I get that bit wrong

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 05/03/2008 13:11

Expat , sandals with tights ?

You clearly have baby brain already.

snowleopard · 05/03/2008 13:11

Oh congrats expat!

Sorry, I don't like the sandals much. You need these

Still ugly, but iconic! I wear them all summer. In Scotland.

jumpingbeans · 05/03/2008 13:12

wozt, the things are bad enough, do not, i repeat do not suggest socks with them

SmartArse · 05/03/2008 13:12

By the way, you do know it's WINTER don't you? Surely no-one wears sandals in winter ... do they?

Ooops I missed the earlier birkie bicker. Expat birkenstocks are great. They're ugly, but they're meant to be IYSWIM. Like Uggs.

Ah wet feet, all part of a great Scottish summer. Also I can't see how your chosen footwear of fugliness is really going to solve the problem anyway.May I suggest

oh, they'll come through looking like fashion plates, mmj. my auntie is 5ft. 8in and although she is now in her 60s, she was a flight attendant for many years. she started back when you had to be good looking and wear heels to work and everytime i see her long legs in those heels i think about the 3 bunion surgeries she's already had to have .

I think in Madrid you really ought to make more effort expat. Skirt, tights, walking shoes, come on now, these are what you need

expatinscotland · 05/03/2008 13:18

Snow, I can heartily assure you that Madrid is nowhere near as wet as this place.

It's official now: both January and February were the wettest January and February on record for the Cowal Penninsula.

I can count on two hands and have plenty of fingers left over the number of dry days we've had since October.
