Carry On Bag

DonnaAndJosh · 22/09/2023 20:47

Hi all,

I'm going to Australia in a few months and I'd really like to buy the perfect carry on bag, if it exists. Could double up as short haul flights too, and roadtrips / nights away etc.

What do you use? Any recommendations?

Thank you!

Longchamp Le Pliage.

Bearpawk · 22/09/2023 21:38

I assume you don't mean a rucksack?

Longchamp Le Pliage.

Thanks. I've had one of those before. I'd like something with a bit more structure and some different sections.

I'd rather not have a rucksack, unless it's oustandingly good for this purpose.

I just use a Marc jacobs tote with a bag liner in it

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 22/09/2023 23:06

I got the carry on wheelie one from decathlon and found it great; it’s not expensive and has a few handy different pockets. Enjoy your travels!

JustAMinutePleass · 22/09/2023 23:07

Samsung’s laptop bags are amazing. Love them. I prefer the rucksacks as they look stylish but you get totes too

JustAMinutePleass · 22/09/2023 23:07

Samsonite not samsung!

AltitudeCheck · 22/09/2023 23:13

I love my Brics X Travel bag and would use a few small packing cubes to help keep things organised

DonnaAndJosh · 23/09/2023 00:11

Thank you. I have a Mulberry tote in the scotchgrain but it's a big inflexible for what I'm after. Samsonite looks interested. I guess I want a bandbag that has compartments bit enough to put say a scarf, an iPad, some carry on toiletries, a water bottle etc.

I use my 2 wheeled Wenger Cabin bag.

I've had it for years

I should upgrade all my luggage from 2 wheels to 4 but I love all my soft shell material Antler luggage.

Yarple · 23/09/2023 00:25

Mia Tui bags are fantastic, designed specifically for this. Comply with size restrictions, lots of compartments, a clip for your keys, insulated bottle pocket, have a panel at the back that will slip over a suitcase handle. They even have a clear pocket for your liquids inside. Lovely bags too.

UncomfortableSofa · 23/09/2023 06:59

Try the Antler Overnight Chelsea.

Quality, lots of sections and fits under the seat in front. Also can slip over the handle of your wheelie case.

I can't recommend this more highly, I use for flights/ overnight trips a couple of times a month, it's smart but not heavy with useful pockets nordace.com/en/product/orleans-yoga-duffel-bag/

Just want to say it's really suspect when someone links with an affiliate marketing link.

So what you get paid when people click or when people buy?

Or Jesus is this a mumsnet affiliate marketing thing?!

Who gets paid for this link?!

Lightsandtights · 24/09/2023 11:33

There is something with mumsnet and affiliate links. It’s been mentioned in the Christmas boards in the last couple of weeks.

It's such a shitty underhand thing to do

Who the fuck makes money on this link? And why isn't it abundantly clear?

And if the fucking thing hadnt redirected 15 million times is never have been the wiser

LuubyLuu · 24/09/2023 20:18

Umm sorry if this is a dodgy link, not sure how that happened, was just trying to recommend a really great cabin bag that has been worked really well for me and also seemed to tick a lot of the posters boxes.

DonnaAndJosh · 25/09/2023 08:18

Thanks everyone. I didn't click the spammy link. I had already ordered the Antler.
