Do All Jumpers Bobble

I would like to get a few nice chunky knits, looking a composition most have synthetic fibres.

How would you know which ones will last and not look like dog’s bed after a couple of wears?

My synthetic ones all bobble. I only buy pure wool for that reason, mostly in charity shops. Or sometimes cotton knits.

If you can wear lambswool or cashmere etc then I’d go for that, it will bobble under the arms but you can buy a little fabric shaver for about a tenner and they look as good as new afterwards. Try Vinted or charity shops if you can’t afford them full price.
These cheap polyester type knits won’t last the winter and aren’t worth bothering with.

I have a couple of chunky cotton knit jumpers from Rapanui which have washed and lasted well.

I've got a Nicole Farhi cotton sweater I bought in 1991 which is still going strong!

This summer I bought an unbelievably expensive wool jumper in Copenhagen which will apparently last a lifetime and shouldn't need washing either! Time will tell...
