How to dye a bleach spot

Not sure if this belongs in Style and Beauty! I have a navy blue sweatshirt and I stupidly didn't take it off when I was using bleach in the kitchen. A spot of bleach must have splashed the arm as I now have a small orange dot on the sleeve. Anyone know how I could dye over it? It's just a dot but it's annoying.

Sharpie?

BoobyDazzler · 21/09/2023 19:59

I’ve used sharpies for this too. Just make sure you’ve watched it a few times to get all the bleach residue out.

I've touched up bleach splashes on jeans with a navy blue indelible marker pen. Would that work?
Dylon dyes say that their products won't cover bleach stains.
You could use a colour stripper and redye the whole sweatshirt.

Yes good idea-I'll try a Sharpie.
Thanks all!

Sharpie really does work if you get a close colour match. Occasionally need to top up.

Warriormum1 · 21/09/2023 21:51

I have had bleach marks on trousers before, and I bought a Dylon machine dye in the same colour as the trousers and dyed them in the machine. They didn't come out perfect, but it covered the mark enough to keep wearing them.

@Warriormum1 I can't dye the whole top as it has white on the front as shown here. Thanks anyway!

Sharpie all the way - particularly on a small spot on the arm. I had a much greater disaster with a cotton rubberised raincoat but a black Sharpie saved the day there too.

HappiDaze · 22/09/2023 05:45

Ha yes definitely a sharpie

I just bought a pack of black ones for this very reason a couple of weeks ago

That's a shame, looks like it will have to be a sharpie!
