I'm hoping my photos have attached.
I've been dying my hair fit well over 25yrs (I'm not quite 50).
Right now as you can (hopefully) see the lower part is blonde and the upper is dyed brown and then there are my grey roots showing through.
I don't like being blonde. I don't want to be blonde. But I also think I need to accept that I can't sustain being 'natural" colour of mid - brown anymore. So I just want to embrace the grey.
I don't really want to have a year or more of growing it out. My hair seems so grow painfully slowly and I don't suit short hair.
Ideally I want the none- grey bits to be coloured either silver or very light ash blonde so it all blends in as it grows.
I will be speaking to a hairdresser about this, but I'd love to have some idea from people on here about method / time and likely cost.
Advice gratefully received Smile

I had babylights when I decided to grow mine out. I believe babylights are very fine but lots of them so it sort of blends in. Other than that I went cold turkey. It took me about 18months in total but I have a mid bob.

This is me now. It’s the best thing I ever did. But I had no choice due to a dye allergy!

I’d recommended joining GrombreUK/EU on FB. There’s lots of inspiration on there.

@GreyRooted thanks, your hair is just as I would like mine to look! When you say baby lights are they still blonde?

They were blonde though I can’t specifically remember which sort of shade. They were probably a bit warm for me as I used to be a cool brown colour naturally…but they did they job. Having the babylights just sort of helped with not having that definite line that you cab get when growing a colour out. I also started using a purple shampoo once a week or so.

The FB group I mentioned has lots of before, after and in between pictures which helped when I had the inevitable wobbles about whether I was doing the right thing! (Even though I had the dye allergy, I could have continued with blonde but that just wasn’t ‘me’).

Also, I’m lucky as my hair is still quite shiny, even though this picture doesn’t necessarily show it - I had to zoom in!

I'm worried about have blonde from the roots as I don't suit warm colours. I can deal with the blonde at the moment as I have a dark shadow root thing going on but I hate the idea of blonde all over. Im going to join the FB page and see what they say.
