Hair toner- help needed

I've got mostly grey hair, and about 6 weeks ago I had some highlights put in so that my natural silver streaks that are more towards the front continued all the way round.
The hairdresser put on a toner, which she said I would need to have done again after a few months to stop the highlights looking yellow. She also said to use blue shampoo which I do.

I should have stopped right there, but I didn't.

Since then I have started swimming several times a week. So my hair is getting washed much more frequently, and even though I wear a swim hat, it does get chlorinated water on it.

It is looking definitely yellow tinged despite blue or purple shampoo, and I guess it's time for a toner. But what toner? If I get a semipermanent one, will it be affected by the chlorine?
Are any of you swimmers with streaks in your grey hair and have you found a solution?
I don't really want to commit to getting it done regularly at the hairdresser, and would pre something I can do myself. Ideally I want to turn the clock back and not have done this, I am not going to have it highlighted again! Was a really stupid move!
Can anyone help?
