Please help me find an incredibly EXTRA dress

Please help me find a dress (or jumpsuit?) for an awards event… I want something ridiculously extra and everything I see online just looks meh. Happy to rent or buy… preferably below £150.

I’m 5ft 9, size 8. Want something that screams ‘here I am!’ Short is fine (preferable) but prefer not to have boobs out. Feathers, sequins, giant shoulder pads, whatever- just something WOW!

I'd go for the Kitty Joseph dress - I've seen a few pictures of it being worn on stage and it shows and photographs amazingly well as a statement

@Golightlygoodnight just curious but… why?

don’t mean to come across as rude or disapproving but your post made me smile and wondered what is it that makes you want to stand out so much on this occasion?

I always want to look my best etc and “wow” in that’s sort of way but usually I want to blend in more or dress “appropriately” to feel most at ease.

how will you feel walking into the room with 4 foot spikes or enormous shoulder pads or whatever? Genuinely intrigued as I wouldn’t feel comfortable at all!!

some amazing ideas forms others coming up too. Short sleeve, yellow, mini dress is good. Clown jumpsuit… not so much hahaha

The orange swingy dress listed at about 8.52am is 🔥🔥 and 😍 - makes me think of something Villanelle would have worn on Killing Eve.

I think massive puffy shoulders, or an asymmetric puffy shoulder bow are the way forward. Loads of that at the Oscars.

If you want to say 'here I am', you need VOLUME.

If you can rent it a friend of mine recently bought the Scarlet Rain Sky Rocket dress by The Vampire's Wife for an upcoming event where she wants to wow. She's very tall and willowy and looks absolutely banging in it, she'd turn heads in an empty room.

I'm the OP (logging in on PC and it's remembered my old account ) - Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far.

@JimnJoyce - I do quite like the ASOS blue disc one. That's a definite contender if I don't find something that truly wows me.

@AliasGrape That pale pink dress is beautiful and I want it! But probably not for this event: It feels too delicate and ethereal to 'command a room' if you know what I mean.

@Defiantlynot41 - That first dress (the Taller Marmo) is bang on! But god no, I can't spend £600 + on it. Maybe it's just because it's next to the ideal dress, that the Steve Madden one just seems lacking :(
