I have noticed that I do look very wide around the waist and belly area in some type/style of dresses & I am really struggling on what to wear

Got to go to church for a ceremony & got 2 of the dresses in the 1st 2 pictures attached but trying it on, I look look very wide and big around the waist line.I am wondering perhaps I should buy the 3rd dress or it won't make a difference

  • I wonder if a wait clincher or girdle can help

I think jumpsuit tend not to have the same effect/look on my waist line. I don't look wide around the waist line with jumpsuit & I am scratching my head wondering why.

I have the same issue. Wearing jeans or trousers I look nicely evenly sized but lots of dresses make me look enormous.
I have found straighter dresses to be more forgiving, sometimes with a wide belt helps (though sometimes that looks worse and I've yet to figure out quite why).
Anything with an A-line or even a slight flair ends up making my waist look even larger.
If I was choosing from the dresses you have posted, I'd go for the pink one at the bottom as from experience that would be the most flattering shape on me

Does the waist on the dress sit at your waistline? Or do you need to pull it up/down so it's in the right place?
A lot of dresses make me look an odd shape because the waistline hits in the wrong place on me (I'm about average height and slim, but with long legs and a really short body!)
