Does this dress work as workwear?

I have this dress and virtually identical shoes. If I paired that outfit with a tailored black blazer (and keep the jacket on all day), do you reckon it could be work appropriate? I work for the govt, smart-casual dress code but I have some formal meetings coming up. I feel comfortable in this outfit but not sure if I should go smarter for the meeting!

Op, I'm intrigued by your description of how this looks on you vs the model, which sounds like it would be OK, do you have a pic?

The model is straight up and down as well and it clings around the model's calves. There's no way that dress is suitable for formal workplace meetings, even with a jacket.

Would this outfit work better?

these cream trousers with a white satin blouse, black blazer and black loafers? They’re the only trousers I could find that were the right length!

Yes, that's fine. There's a huge difference between the two.

Hard, hard no. Sorry, OP.

Thank you! I’ll go with the trouser/blouse combo. The dress is a no.

No way! Unless you pop a jumper over it and wear it like a skirt.

I like the trouser/blouse combo

I didn’t think of this, but I’ll skip the dress anyway! I think it looks nicer in real life than in the photos but posters are right that it’s not the most luxurious material so I could do better.

No

No. Maybe with a jumper over the top. The length also looks a bit odd for work but might be ok with the right shoes and top.
