Hairdryer hunt

Hello, my hairdryer has given up on me and I am looking for a new one. I'm trying to choose between the Parlux 3200 Compact Plus and the GHD Air Dryer - has anyone tried both and had a preference? Anyone love or hate either of them? They are both around £100 which is the top of my budget - any other recommendations also welcome. My hair is fine, fairly short, not very thick, and a mixture of wavy and straight. TIA for any recommendations.

Feels crazy to be posting about hair dryers in this heat.....

My hair is similar. I have had two Braun hairdryers since I was fifteen and the first lasted twenty five years. The second is twenty years old already. Well within your budget.

Thanks Muddyford. My current/just broken hairdryer is 15-20 years old and was far less expensive (Mark Hill) than Parlux or GHD. I was hoping that going expensive would (magically?) make all the difference and give me the hair I'd always dreamed of but maybe that's optimistic!

I'll take a look at Braun, thanks. Any other hairdryer thoughts from evening MNers?

I'm not sure an expensive hairdryer will transform things.
I've only discovered after all these years that to give your hair more body, you dry it slower with less heat, rather than blast dry by vigorously shaking the dryer at it!
Then you could try a hot rotating brush like Babybliss Big Hair to give volume with smoothness.
I think basic for the dryer, then think about styling after the drying.

I've got the GHD and love it, I haven't used Parlux but hear they are heavy. The GHD is super powerful and dries my hair really quickly. I'll definitely buy another if/when it breaks.

Another vote for GHD.

Thank you all - food for thought! Agree with the hot brush Lucy, I've the Revlon version and it's great for smoothing my hair out.

I have the ghd and find it meh, and heavy...

I have the Parlux 385 (about 7 years now) and love. Dries my hair faster than any previous hairdryer (which is good because drying my hair bores me...).
