Oodie Sleep Tee dupe?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/09/2023 20:43

I' m looking for a big, loose cotton (or other natural fibres) T shirt night shirt thing that comes down to mid thjgh - knees. Like the Oodie sleep tee, but less than the £50+ that they are, and in a plainer kind of design. Not smiling avocados or Star Wars etc

Would an oversized man's t-shirt work? Mens t-shirts tend to be better quality than womens you can pick one up under £10 for cotton.

I’ve got a couple for really good 100% cotton sleep tees from Primark recently, I think they were about £12. They come down to just above my knee and I’m 5ft9ish

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 09/09/2023 23:36

I've got the primark ones too. TLC and PowerPuff girls

HappiDaze · 10/09/2023 00:00

They've got loads in primark which I nearly bought as they feel like cotton but they're not cotton sadly so I had to put them back

FirstFallopians · 10/09/2023 00:04

I’ve got Aristocats and My Little Pony nighties (in the form of oversized tees) from Primark, but I’m sure they do less juvenile designs!

I love the look of the Oodie ones but I’d love to know what they’re snorting asking £50 for a baggy t shirt.

cherryassam · 10/09/2023 00:04

I’ve just checked and the ones I bought in July are 100% cotton. They were hanging up in the loungewear section I remember rather than being folded up with the other nighties

I'm quite tall, men's t shirts rarely cover my bum! I've been trying some of DH's XLs. I also don't really want good quality - not thick fabric anyway - I want to these for really hot nights like we've been having.

I've been looking at those. My 89 year old mum wears them. I can't explain why, but they're not quite what I had in mind.

I need a trip to Primark I think.

I meant good quality as in proper cotton not a polycotton so it would be cooler and wash better and in theory last longer x

LancsHotpot · 11/09/2023 08:43

I like this one from M&S.www.marksandspencer.com/pure-cotton-muslin-rever-nightshirt/p/clp60530818#intid=pid_pg1pip41g2r4cl

It's cool to wear and nearly reaches my knees (I am 5'9). I do tend to slop coffee on it though because it is white and that's what happens when I wear white. I bought a second one and dyed it bright pink, looks good, and no coffee spillages!

@Lifeetc you are a genius. I have picked up a men's 4XL plain navy t shirt in Asda this morning. I'm not sure I realised that this size existed in supermarkets! It's just what I want for these really hot nights like we're having at the moment. No silly patterns, covers my bum, 100% cotton, £5!

I have the oodie one and honestly nothing compares to it. I have some big Primark ones but they don't match the fabric quality or bagginess.

I imagine you are right, but I only want a sleep tee for those two weeks a year (in the North of England) where it's too hot to sleep at night. I could possibly be lured to Oodie if they did plain colours.

Could I ask what uk women's size the one you got is suitable for? Need something similar!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 12/09/2023 14:30

I'm a tallish, curvy 16. It's loose a baggy, but not falling off, and covers my bum - I'm 5'8".
