I had and still have a bit of a mark avon (cheapie end of their products ( taupe verging on lilac ish mushroom) eyeshadow pot. It is shade Tokyo. They've got some new magnetic range called oh so Tokyo and I can't find my beloved one.
Has anyone got a great taupe cream eyeshadow? I can slick this on with mascara and look " done" in seconds. Is the Trinny stuff any good ? Ideally cheaper but I need it to be creamy thank you !

& other stories cream eyeshadows are very good

I like the Sephora crayons. they have a variety of shades. I have a dark taupe that I use as eyeliner, and can smudge for shadow. Cheap with good reviews.

I haven't tried the new taupe shade (Shroom) but the Gensee eyeshadows (matte liquid) are amazing. I'm rubbish at make up but they blend really well and stay put. Not cheap but if you get on with them they're worth every penny.

I like the maybelline colour tattoo ones

I have tried a couple of samples of the Trinny lip to cheek colours and I like them. The eye colour samples dried out quickly, but that might be because the samples weren’t resealable. They might be better in the pots with a lid.

I also like the Nude Stix pencils. I swipe across the lid a couple of times, smudge with my finger and done.

I like Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise, especially Champagne

You can still get Bourgois nude palette and smoky stories sets online. No-one else makes decent eyeshadow as far as I'm concerned and I'm not sure what I'll do when I can no longer get it as they offiicially stopped selling in the UK some time ago.

I second Nudestix and also Bobbi Brown longwear shadow sticks. Her Dusty Mauve shade is amazing - more purple toned than taupe but it's a real "one and done" colour.

Yes I think they have a taupey shade

OhYetAnotherBrickInTheWall · 06/09/2023 06:31

Mac Paintpot in Groundwork

Taupe, slight mauve hint, doesn’t budge, easy to apply and build. Good base for other colours too. There’s a reason it’s never been discontinued.

Bourjois are back, try Superdrug.

I like the Trinny eyeshadows. A little goes a long way so they are very good value and definitely no drying out in the little T pots. They are definitely worth trying first/asking about because what they look like in the pot versus what they are like on your skin can be a bit different.

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 06/09/2023 06:53

Mac groundwork. So easy to apply you can pretty much do it in the dark and doesn’t budge all day. It’s a really easy to wear warm ish taupe.

CassiniG · 06/09/2023 07:09

Lisa Eldridge French grey is lovely.

Thanks, that's great news.

Another vote for MAC Groundwork. Painterly also a great neutral.

scaredydog2 · 06/09/2023 08:58

Oh this is great thank you so much
