I found some teeth whitening strips that work!

So thought I'd share.

I can't use anything like Crest strips as they literally cause shooting agony through my teeth and it's just horrible

So on a recommendation I've tried Lumineux. They're vegan, no bleaching agents and use essential oils and coconut oil blah blah so I wasn't expecting much!

However they've done a really good job! I've taken a before and after but the lighting had changed between 7.30pm and 8pm so you may not be blown away or anything but I can see a big difference in real life

Anyway it's a genuine recommendation - I'm not on the board at LumineuxGrin

Oh and a pic. I know it's a bit rubbish but trust me - teeth look pretty white now!

And I know it's a terrible pic but meh.

Well for a true comparison you need to take pictures in the same light. The top one is yellow because it's taken in artificial lighting, if the white balance is corrected then there's going to be very little difference between the two images.

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 20:35

That's a fair point @pepino but honestly, the difference is really good.

But that's in real life. I'll take a pic in proper daylight again tomorrow I think

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 20:35

And the top one was taken by a windows in daylight - well 7.30pm light. The second one was at 8pm just gone - same spot but it was darker

ChristmasCrumpet · 03/09/2023 20:37

Yes, but in the top picture you have a yellowy hue to your skin, and the bottom, your skin's a pinky hue. So the images aren't comparable.

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 20:38

Yes true true

I'll pop back tomorrow with a true light pic!

You can’t just accept that the OP is telling you it has worked? Why the over analysis.

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 20:50

@RunningFromInsanity cos it's Mumsnet innit? Grin

But thank you! I KNOW the photos are amazing which I said in my opening post but I was hoping that you could actually see that yes, they were whiter because they are - regardless of light

OP posts:
TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 20:51

*aren't amazing! Not are

Iwasafool · 03/09/2023 20:53

Yes I can see a difference. Apart from whiteness you have some discolouration near the gum on the top picture but that is all gone. I think they look great.

AnyFucker · 03/09/2023 20:53

Thanks for the recommendation. Too many coffees and glasses of red wine have not been kind to my hnashers.

pilates · 03/09/2023 20:54

Yes I can see a difference, thanks for sharing

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 20:57

Oh good - glad some people can see what I mean.

I have odd teeth in that they're not grey or yellow - they're just dull and I've noticed it recently.

I was sceptical about these as 'coconut oil and lemon peel' Hmm but I was really surprised

Because I'm going with my own eyes, when the entire point is to compare image one with image two. Yes her teeth have changed colour, but so has her skin even more drastically, it's like comparing apples and pears.

WaveyGodshawk · 03/09/2023 21:25

Thanks for recommendation OP.. where did you get them?

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 21:50

@WaveyGodshawk got them from Amazon. They're not cheap particularly as I think they're imported from the States, although it's a British seller

Because a lot of companies use threads as disingenuous marketing. Not saying op is.

Solonomi · 03/09/2023 22:10

Oddly, as with most teeth whitening ‘before and after pics’, the before one is is colour balanced to be more yellow whilst the after has been colour balanced to be more blue giving the teeth a whiter look. I’m not convinced. It’s a common ploy teeth whitening companies use in their marketing.

Yup. It always seems to be tooth whitening stuff too? Just wondering how long it will be before the Cleopatra tooth powder people pop up...😂

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 22:24

@Solonomi OMG! Nothing was 'balanced' - it was a quick pic on my iPhone in front of my bedroom window.

I assure you, I am categorically not a 'teeth whitening company' Grin Or maybe I DO work for Nu Skin or whoever does that network marketing toothpaste and I'm cunningly recommending a non MLM product by a competitor Wink

My error here is not replicating the first pic to the nth degree

I give up! Try it or don't try it. It was a genuine recommendation and I really can't be arsed with twatty comments so I'll hide the thread now as it's clearly not been helpful to some of the usual twats who hang out here

I also get those awful pains like lightning in the teeth from normal whitening strips. Bought some ones for sensitive teeth but they do nothing. Please do post your daylight pics tomorrow! I really want to find out how these work because how can lemon and coconut oil make as much difference as it looks. Do your teeth feel like the outer layer has dissolved or anything? 😂

Galaxy2846 · 03/09/2023 22:53

Thanks for sharing OP! I see on Amazon it has mixed reviews but glad it worked out for you :)

TheShapeOfAnOwl · 03/09/2023 23:01

Very mixed reviews @Galaxy2846 which did make me think twice.

I'm impressed so far anyway!

@Kat19899 no, none of that horrible stabby pain that I've had from the crest strips before! They did feel sticky though and a bit oily but a quick brush sorted that out

Have to agree with this.
