How do you take off your mascara?

I'm curious to know! How does everyone remove their mascara?

I use baby wipes but it can't be good me pulling the mascara off or is that normal?
A cleanser smudges all the mascara onto your face and you can still feel bits of mascara on your eyelashes.

Anyone have any good tips?

I use a miscellar water cleanser. If you put it on a cotton pad and hold it against the eye for 30 seconds or so I find it comes away quite easily and doesn't leave any mascara residue on my lashes.

I have washable cloths. I use Nivea eye makeup remover. Put it on the cloth, hold on eye for 30 secs and comes off easily.

Clinique take the day off. Marvellous stuff.

Lancôme bi-facil. It’s magic, nothing else works.

I wear Guerlain Mad Eyes mascara and remove my whole face of make up, including mascara, with Superdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser - massage it in, use a clean flannel (not the muslin cloth with the cleanser) dipped and wrung out on the face at least 3 times in hand hot water, then a cold water final rinse. Pressed on face for a good 5 seconds first then used to gently massage all over face for next two or so rinses. Removes everything, suits my sensitive skin.

Elemis balm or oil cleanser massages all over face. Wring out a hot flannel. Clean face.

Ponds cold cream cleanser and a warm flannel

Oooh is that the waxy stuff? I love that. Body shop also do a version that's good too.

Superfacialist Vit C oil cleanser. Just smoosh it all over then rinse off.

This make up remover on 2 pads (cotton pads or the reusable kind). I’ve tried all kinds like the Lancôme one but prefer this. I wear contact lenses and use waterproof mascara as I have very watery eyes and it removes it without feeling too oily even though it does have oil.

I try not to rub, just shake the remover to mix it, soak the pads and hold in place and gently wipe a couple of times.

Alpha H or Elemis balm cleansers. Takes the whole face of makeup off. Even stubborn eyeliner.

MidnightOnceMore · 03/09/2023 17:19

Coconut oil

boboshmobo · 03/09/2023 17:25

Washable cloths and water .. works perfectly . I didn't rub , I just hold the water on them and them wipe the actual lashes .
I hate waste and wipes are so wasteful

bryceQ · 03/09/2023 17:25

Any oil or balm Cleanser. Rub gently for one minute then emulsify with water then it all comes off easily

Yeah it’s the stuff that looks like lard 😂

ImDoingThisNow · 03/09/2023 17:39

Shower gel rubbed in to the lashes while I'm in the shower, then rinse.

😮

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 03/09/2023 17:39

For normal mascara, Garnier micellar water in the bottle with the pink lid. For waterproof mascara, Garnier micellar water (that you shake) in the bottle with the purple lid. I’ve used loads of cleansers and hightly rated expensive micellar water and the Garnier ones are by far the best and cheapest.

DavinaTheDreadful · 03/09/2023 17:41

Elemis cleansing balm, but it is quite pricey. When I run out I'm switching to something cheaper!

DeadButDelicious · 03/09/2023 17:42

I use a tubing mascara, I take it off with warm water and a microfiber cloth, comes off really easily, a gentle rub and it's all gone.

Purpleavocado · 03/09/2023 17:44

Liz Earle or the Aldi version, or Clinique take the day off rubbed all over and massaged into my lashes and wiped off with a hot wet muslin

gingercat02 · 03/09/2023 17:50

I use an oil cleaner and a flannel at night

This is the new version I stocked up on the old one online, so I haven't used it yet, but I used the foaming Checks and Balances in the shower in the morning

CoteDAzur · 03/09/2023 17:59

Soap. Water. Done.

All these rituals are quite unnecessarily and possibly even unhealthy for people rubbing various oils on their eyelids.

When If you get a red bump on an eyelid, don't believe that is a chronic condition called Blepharitis. Stop rubbing oils on your eyelids and start cleaning them with soap at least twice a day.

Same.

AIstolemylunch · 03/09/2023 18:01

I also use the washable pads with that Nivea make up remover, the purple one you have to shake to mix. It's the only thing I've found that gets mascara off easily.
