Thick leggings to make ankles look thicker?

I have a wide foot and extremely skinny ankles/legs. I have ankle boots (which I wear underneath long flared jeans) but I’d love to be able to wear them with dresses. They have a huge gap and look ridiculous. I thought maybe really thick fleecy leggings might help. But they’d have to be really bulky. Can anyone recommend some really bulky ones, please?! Or any other ideas? (Can only buy online due to battling mobility issues.)

How about thicker boot socks pushed down? You could buy legwarmers from Amazon for a similar look if you need the extra space in the boot itself.

Boot cuffs were made for this!

I'd go for thick boot socks and roll down. No leggings are going to be so thick that they really alter much. The fleece lined ones are the thickest I've seen and they still don't realistically add bulk.

Overall though I'd imagine this is nowhere near as noticeable as you feel it is OP, and I doubt anyone's looking or notices at all.

Leg warmers pushed down 8n to the boot 🤣

I’d go for skinnier boots instead! Joules used to be good for narrow ankles, not sure if that’s still the case.

Thank you very much for the great replies.

When I put on two pairs of normal thickness leggings (just tried!) it takes my calf size from 29 cm to 31.5 cm. Which visually makes quite a difference. Then if I add two pairs of short cotton socks scrunched a little one on top of the other, I think I can just about get away with it.

I will definitely experiment with the other great ideas suggested here - boot socks, boot cuffs, leg warmers, etc.

I would ideally prefer to buy one thick pair of leggings, rather than wearing two pairs of leggings on top of each other, but it’s hard to tell online which are the thickest. If anyone happens to come across any (navy and chocolate brown) please do let me know! Thank you again for your time.

Primark fleece lined leggings?

Oneminutespeace1 · 03/09/2023 20:33

Oh, are the Primark ones quite bulky Britpopbaby?

Fleece leggings which are too long (from tall section), so that they bunch up round the ankle?

Will only work if you aren’t tall yourself.

Duo boots do boots for slim ankles

Oneminutespeace1 · 03/09/2023 22:41

I’ve used Duo for knee highs with slim calf but not for ankle boots - I’ll have to check that out (could be expensive 😅)

I have the same issue very skinning ankles so ankle boots make my legs look like golf sticks
