Enormous pores

Help!

I've had blackheads and acne all my life. Duac seems to be helping.

Meanwhile the pores on my nose and forehead seem to be getting bigger with age. My skin is getting pinker and mottled. The texture is terrible, along with tram lines, 11's and other wrinkles.

I've always been a bit of a scruff but at 44, I think it's time to do something.

What works? Would consider chemical peels etc. Can spend cash.

Any ideas?

Large pores are hard to treat but the following has reduced look of mine on my nose

Tretinoin
LED red light
Lactic acid - glycolic would be better but I can’t tolerate it
Niacinamide - again I can’t tolerate it but supposed to help with pores
Twice a week, a good scrub with aluminium crystals - they’re used in microdermabrasion but you can buy them cheaply and use at home - I got more results this way than with actual microdermabrasion.

Then a good primer to conceal and a small eyeshadow brush to buff translucent powder into them in a circular motion both clock and anti-clockwise.

You need tretinoin. It's a prescription-only retinoid and has worked wonders for my large pores and fine lines.

I get mine via Dermatica (personalised skincare for just £2.90, plus £10 off your next month. Head to www.dermatica.co.uk and checkout with code GY4DDP www.dermatica.co.uk/referrer/GY4DDP Link) but you can also get it prescribed by a dermatologist.

Paula's choice BHA will sort the blackheads out. Nothing will shrink the pores, I have the same x

Dermatica

@JMAngel1 where do you buy your aluminium powder from? I've tried microdermabrasion and was very underwhelmed by it so this might be the way to go.

I have these. While looking them up I found these too, much cheaper but I can't speak for the quality.

I just got mine from eBay. As long as it’s aluminium oxide crystals it doesn’t really matter re packaging etc.

What exactly do you get from Dermologica?
