I like to replenish my knickers and socks each autumn as my socks have all shrunk and are mismatched from a year ago. I ordered 2 packs of pants and a few packs of socks in navy, black, grey and some patterned. The cost -£75!! How do people afford this!!

I never buy socks! I have plenty that have lasted years plus I generally get a couple of pairs each Christmas that top up the existing stock. I definitely think Asda and Primark are best for basics. They wash and wear really well. M&S quality is shit - I don't know how they justify their prices. The only clothes I've ever had fall apart after only a few washes are from M&S. Primark and Asda last years!

I still buy knickers in M&S because I simply don't think Primark ones are as good quality but I always buy my socks in primark now because they are far cheaper than marks.

Are you the OP or is there another poster who also buy 25 pairs of socks every single Autumn!!?

I had to throw out socks in June that my mum bought me to go to uni with. That was 23 years ago. And they only just started a hole in the seam. They were pringle from tkmaxx.

I used to have a "thing" about only wearing black socks but I bought a 7 set of Nike socks that are each colour of the rainbow (£17.99). I sized up to mens so they are knee high and they make me happy every time I wear them. Plus colour coordinate with outfits and no cold ankles this glorious "summer".

Uniqlo men’s socks are the business. Nice selection of colours and 4 for £12 so bargain too and last at least a couple of years with twice week wearing

I wear Next men's socks. They are at least 5 years old and still like new.
Last time I bought knickers it was Tescos 5 for £8. Better quality than M&S.
